Don't think we have a match thread on this yet. Thoughts and predictions? I think the big sticky plaster that the team are trying to put on their problems right now is too little too late. I can't see them turning this around in time mentally. It's like their dog died last week and someone has bought them a puppy promising it'll all be the same as it was before. Cute idea, but never really works in the short term. Whilst I thought Capello was the man for the job when he got the appointment with trying to instill discipline into the squad and the likes, I think he's tried and failed on the stage he was hired to perform on. I've got a feeling we'll get dicked 2-0. I for one do not still believe.

2-1 to England, although if that money-grabbing manager continues playing the 'big' names then I hope we lose.
Oh, and I hope Rooney either gets sent off or injured, the sooner the little runt f***s off back to his scally wife, the better.

2-0 England. Terry and Crouch.
I'm going to put a tenner on England winning the whole thing. After the mess of the Algeria game, the odds have got to be at their longest, and with good reason. However, we can still top the group if we win and I fancy us to do just that.
Plus, if there's money to be made, I might actually give a shíte about how they do!

going for a 2-0 for England.
We have been in worse predicaments before and got through to the next stage (1986 were we lost the 1st game, drew the 2nd game and won the 3rd game!)
Also already have the half-day booked (thank goodness I did)!! so a few jars as well :-)
Wonder if the bar will be showing it via BBC or RTE (the bar refuses to show matches from ITV because of ITV's ineptness at commercials during goals!)

I find it odd if ITV show adverts during the goals because they dont here and the game is on BBC over here.

so you have not heard that ITV placed a commercial just as England scored in their first game of this tournament (on its HD channel) and pardon my ignorance for who has what, on the tv channels, as I don't buy a British paper or even any of the British TV listing magazines or is the start of yet another thread being turned into Amos-bashing!

I was answering your question so I am not sure how you can determine that Amos bashin, I am not sure if the advert was all over the country but I dont recall it during my coverage of the match and I am pretty sure it was the HD channel I had on.

All is definatly not right in the England camp and I honestly think USA will finish 2nd and us 3rd.
Seems as though spending the odd week with each other during the qualifiers was alright but now the team is pretty much living in each others pockets, players are not getting along or it's just they have had cross words with the manager and the problem has esculated.

Something else that is pissing me off is them keep going on about being bored.
They are there representing their country, I imagine making a fair amount of money through sponsors for doing so.
They've said they have snooker tables, table tennis, darts, tv's and dvd's in their rooms. What more do they want?
God forbid they have a real job where they have to work a dull job for 8 hours a day
Pampered fannys.

Where did you hear that? If it's true which it probably is because they are moaning about everything else then just come home and give your place up to someone who actually wants it! e.g. Cahill

Rooney, Gerrard and Terry have all said it in interviews. I think more have mentioned it too.
They want a ban lifted on WAGS coming over.

I don't see the point of not letting their wifes/girlfriends come over, they are hardly going to distract them during the game sat 100 rows back.
Capello is just taking the piss with how strict he is being with the players.

None of my boyfriends have come over with me whilst I've working away on business. Of course they'll be a distraction. And the media circus last time was a disgrace. It's about time someone was strict with those tossers.

Gary Lineker said the sentence that gave me the most hope a day or two ago when he said that for all the problems, a win is the best remedy to help cure them all. We've been dreadful so far, we look on the brink of collapsing behind the scenes. But if we got an early couple of goals against Slovenia we know we have it in us to go and get more and top the group with relative ease.
If that happens the mentality of the country will change dramatically. I do think we will win but it will be a nail-biter where we will be looking at the other result throughout. I can't see us getting a clean sheet with Upson in the side, I just can't. As a result I'm going for England 3-1 Slovenia.
I still believe... we can get out of the groups anyway.

If the players can't get themselves up for this game tommorow then they might aswell not turn up at all, they are on the verge of being the laughing stock of the world by going out in a ridiculosy easy group.
I wouldn't trust Upson to defend my fridge from a fat woman never mind keeping a clean sheet.

Well if we do go out at this stage then the England side needs a complete shake up. I don't want to see foreign coaches, I don't want to see prima donna's in the side. I want players in there on merit. Darren Bent should have been in, Agbonlahor and Young from Villa should have gone. Heskey, Upson, maybe even Lampard and Terry given their attitudes, don't deserve to be in it.

Can't argue with that, if you look at the bench when teams like Argentina are playing their is a real togetherness amongst the setup with people giving high fives and actually people smiling but you look at our bench and all you see is Capello looking pissed off all the time (even in qualifying) and Pearce, who for some reason looks a shaddow of the guy he did at Man City, he never seems to talk to Fabio and just sits in the dug out giving daggers to the rest of the players.
