Last night after the game, Adrian Charles said that if we drew 2-2 against Slovenia and the USA drew 0-0, then lots will be drawn?

How does that work? Just draw a name out the hat?

We get the cock of America and the cock of England to fight it out and whoever wins that then that nation goes through.

There'd be lots of commotion if we were to go out that way (sorry).

If everything was level, I thought it went off the FIFA rankings, meaning we'd go through.

For what it's worth, I think the USA will beat Algeria comfortably so we'd have to beat Slovenia to go through.

Manny, it is a drawing for who goes through.

I agree with you that the USA will very likely beat Algeria and so we MUST beat Slovenia or we are finished.

Yeah I know, I'd just never heard of FIFA drawing a team out of a hat before. I always presumed they'd just go off FIFA rankings.

I'm not sure it has ever come down to needing to do a drawing.  It very well might be a first.

To be honest if we don't beat Slovenia I really don't think I want to go through. I don't want to see us bimble along and only ever get through by luck. We're better than that, we're England, we invented the game for fcúk's sake.

Haha, reminded me of Mike Bassett that. Nah I agree completely...I think it would be good for us to get Germany in the next round for similar reasons. If we can see them off, then it may be exactly what we need to make a real go of it. Rather than scrapping past someone else and getting twatted by the first decent side we play after that, like we normally do.

Yeah I'd like Germany to be honest. I think there's a big chance we'd go out obviously but there's no substitute for the way an English-German clash fires up both countries. And if we did somehow get past them, then all wounds will be healed and football will be coming home again for a few days. You have to beat the best to be the best... but we struggle to beat the worst.
