I don't think posters should be able to delete or even lock threads they started. Only mods.
Twice today threads have been deleted by the authors simply because they didn't go in the direction they wanted.
Surely this is bad for the site when popular threads disappear, making it look like there's been no activity.

Amos deleted the thread where DaveBWFC caught him lying about living in Holland. It was a classic and is a real shame it went.
Didle locked another one, I forget which.

I dont think he ever has done, maybe had a weekend there at best. He spends all his time on other forums discussing Bolton bus timetables and what Bolton Council are currently ruining. |

Right, I closed that thread because it was in danger of becoming like that thread from months ago, which Manny closed, where it was just pure pages of Whittam and his followers demanding that I leave the site and giving far too much abuse, to me - whilst I was the only one standing and fighting back..
Therefore as the owner of the said thread from Friday, decided that it was in the best interest of the site to delete it - yes may look as though there was less traffic than normal, but if anyone knew was joining the site, what impression would they have gained from that thread.
Would I do that again, yes I would - never for personal reasons and never to prove a point but for the interest of the forum and the site in general.
Sharpy, I was not caught out, as Whittam does not know his geography, and does not know the difference between cities and provinces/counties - shame!
