Well it all kicks off for us on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Any thoughts about the game, who will play, the USA team, or anything at all really - stick them in this thread please.

Come on England!

I think it will be a 2-2 draw, people are underestimating the USA but i suppose if im being totaly honest we will walk this group with ease.

The Yanks are not as much as a walk-over as we like to think.  They are currently ranked 14th in the world and we are 8th.

Whoever wins this game will win the group.

If the game ends in a draw then it will be down to goals scored in other games and to be honest the Yanks have more of a chance of scoring than we do.

Saying all that I am ENGLISH and going for a 2-1 win for us - COYWM! Cool

3-0

Rooney
Lampard
Crouch

I go with 3-0, but I don't think USA will be any mugs, they came 2nd in the Confederations Cup last year and they did beat Spain in the semi finals. They did score quite a lot of goals in qualifying, just like England who have the best scoring average in qualifying of the teams in the World Cup [3.2 a game]

They have some talent and are well organised, and have proved they can cause shocks and win some decent teams, but we should still be thinking 9 points from our group and then take it from there,England have been consistent in reaching quarter finals in the last decade or so, Capello has at least allowed us to think realistically in terms of a semi final and hopefully better.

We have world class players, we are favourites and we should not be thinking teams like USA should be feared, respected yes.

What are you basing that on.

The Americans will tell you they are wondering where their goals will come from.

2-1 to England (Rooney & Lampard)

Lampard to miss a penalty that would make it 3-1.

Their best defender has just been released by Watford. 3 - 1 to England. If we score in the first 10 minutes then I think the floodgates will blast open; so 5-1 in this case.

I'm missing the first half due to work and I will be disappointed if we aren't in a commanding position by the time I get out. I don't care what people say about us not being good enough to win it, maybe we aren't. But we are by far the greatest team (the worrrld has ever seen) in that group and I expect nothing less than a big England win.

England 4-1 United States..... Rooney 2, Crouch 2; Altidore

I've waited 4 years for this, can't wait now!

I's say same team, rumours that Heskey might start.

He just is utter shite, Kevin Davies is miles better than Heskey and I will defend that statement till the day I die.  He injured Rio by falling back on him, he is just a clumsy fcuking retard.

I reckon he'll play Lennon, Carrick, Lampard with Gerrard on the left and Rooney and Heskey upfront.

The team is meant to have Green in net. Gerrard on the left. Carrick in the middle. Cole on the bench and Heskey up front. Jesus Sad
