Goalkeepers: 1 D James, 12 R Green, 23 J Hart.

Defenders: 2 G Johnson, 3 A Cole, 5 R Ferdinand, 6 J Terry, 13 S Warnock, 15 M Upson, 18 J Carragher, 20 L King.

Midfielders: 4 S Gerrard, 7 A Lennon, 8 F Lampard, 11 J Cole, 14 G Barry, 16 J Milner, 17 S Wright-Phillips, 22 M Carrick.

Forwards: 9 P Crouch, 10 W Rooney, 19 J Defoe, 21 E Heskey.

Interesting to see D.James get's the No.1 goalkeeper shirt, but we only need to look at our very own Jussi to know you don't need the No.1 shirt to be 'No.1', but make of this what you will. Not surprised to see A.Lennon get No. 7 or J.Cole get No.11.

I do think the squad numbers speak volumes and the fact that Crouch is 9 because it is historically a strikers number and Barry is 14 tells you everything you need to know about what our 11 is going to be.

It will be 1 to 11 with 14 in place of 9 and that is easily our best 11, I feel confident with that team that we are capable of winning the world cup.

I agree Sharps, thinking about it Lennon.. Lampard..Barry..Gerrard..J.Cole with Rooney upfront is what Capello will go with and I think we have players that can win us the World CUp, no question.

Barry is not going to take Lampard and Gerrard's or the back four's numbers and he's not a No. 7, 9 or 11 kind of player, so Barry not having a 1-11 number means nothing and Crouch having No.9 is expected, but doesn't mean he will start games.

Don't think that is the case Sharpy.

I think some players like having the same shirt number they have at their club.

I think for instance Green plays in 12 at West Ham - and will be England's first choice keeper at the World Cup.  I'm sure other players will have similar preference for shirt numbers (other than 1 to 11) and be regular starters.

I'm with you both on this one Sharps and Sluffy. The players obviously like their choice of shirt numbers (I think Gerrard likes number 8 but that keeps going to Fat Boy) but I think the 1-11's, in particular the goalkeeper, tell us a lot in who will be playing in the starting lineup.

The only non 1-11 number in there that will probably be in the first 11 is Gareth Barry if fit, and that will probably mean Crouch or Joe Cole would make way. Otherwise, I think we're looking at our first 11 right there.

Rio out injured.

King in place for him hopefully. Thing is King is likely to go down injured during the tournement too.

I fooking hope he doesn't pick Upson!

Dawson to be called up in replacement for Rio?

How long is Rio out for? All I have seen is the yellow bar on SSN saying he's in hospital having a scan.

Probably not, and with Carragher being so similar to Terry we cannot play both together- that would be an awfully slow and limited defence.

Who we looking at next. Upson? Oh dear.

Well I thought our Defence was pretty weak already but now Rio is out, it could get really messy if we play a "decent" side.

I hope Crapello sees sense and chooses King, Dawson or Carragher in front of Upson. He is the biggest steaming crock of shíte I've ever seen in and England defence, he's a truly shocking defender and it amazes me how he's still managed to keep his place in the England team. Oh yeah that's right, because he plays for West Ham.
