I'm quite fascinated with stories like this.

Greg Searle was a famous rower many years back winning a gold medal at the Olympics in 1992!

Anyway he retired 10 years ago but decided recently to try to make the British team for the 2012 London Olympics - which by that time he will be 40!

Anyway - he's worked hard enough to get a place in the British 'eight's' boat (8 rowers in a boat) for yesterdays World Cup race on merit (he wasn't given a place because it made a good story) - and they won!

Greg Searle won his first international medal for 10 years as the men's eight won one of six golds for Great Britain in the World Cup opener in Slovenia.

Searle, who last appeared for Great Britain at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and decided last October to make a comeback, sat in the key six seat of a crew featuring members who were FOUR years old when he won his Olympic gold.
