Having just seen the play off final and watching the Swindon players in tears and the fans devastated reminded me of the Watford play off final where we lost 2-0. That was a real low point in supporting Bolton. 90 minutes away from the Premiership, so excited and optimistic before the game and we didn't turn up, 9 months of work all wiped out in 90 minutes, it was I think my lowest point as a Bolton fan.

What was yours?

With only becoming a season ticket holder in the last few seasons I will have to go for the Hull game last season which saw megson get the sack, it may have been a good thing that he was sacked but it's never good seeing your team surrender a 2-0 advantage against a piss poor team and the crowd turning on both the players and manager.

I know there are alot more lower moments in our history but hey I was not there to see them.

I am going to say earliest lowest point was us getting beaten 1-0 at Burnden Park by fcuking Oldham in the Fa Cup after beating Arsenal, Everton and Villa. I dont think I will ever forget the name Darren Beckford and I often say his name by mistake when referring to Jermaine Beckford

The day it was confirmed we were getting Megson ranks as my low point, but for some reason took the Tranmere play off defeat worse than the Watford one.

Yes that was very disappointing, anyone remember another cup run that came to an end at Derby, I remember Craig Short scoring for them, I think we were in what is now League 1 at the time and we had knocked Liverpool out in a previous round.

There are so many to choose from.

Seeing the Scousers dancing on the forecourt at Wembley was a pretty low moment in 1991, losing to the Scousers in the League Cup Semi-Final was also a dark day.

I'm surprised nobody has gone for the Carling Cup final.  I really thought we would win that one and not just losing but the limp performance was very disappointing to me.  Thought I might actually see Bolton win something and then we were down after two minutes and a dodgy pen was given after 7.  Thoroughly depressing.

Seeing those scruffy cúnts outside the stadium protesting like some homeless freaks the other year. I think that's the most embarrassed I've ever been to be a wanderers fan if that counts.

I enjoyed the day out at Cardiff, great stadium and brilliant to see so many Bolton fans. That was nowhere near as bad as losing a play off or a last day relegation.

Was that the one where Emerson Thome was in stitches of laughter when he gave away a penalty? That was very disappointing, we seemed to be a beaten team after about 20 minutes in that game. Will we ever get a better chance to win one of the 3 major trophies in England than that?

The worst part of that day was that more people couldn't be bothered to protest. Other clubs would have had that forecourt crammed with unhappy fans. At Bolton we seem happy enough to moan on an internet forum but nothing more. In some ways about a thousand folk chanting for Megson/Gartside's head after a game would be better than the booing during the game.

Because the bloke hadn't even started the fúcking job. Then again, maybe normal people would've joined in if it hadn't looked like a big issue sellers convention.

Problem was it was before the game, an important game that had we not won we probably wouldn't have stayed up, it was about 100 15-16yr chavs with bedsheets and less imaginitive chants than "wanderers wanderers wanderers".

Agree with DP, that was embarrassing.

. Losing to Liverpool Coca Cola Cup Final

. Losing to Watford Playoff Final

. Losing to Ipswich playoff semi final

. Releasing Okocha

. Losing to Boro in Final - not the best performance and a terrible ref who screwed us more than once in that game.

. Hiring Gary Megson and the last few years under him, but thanks for Lee.

. Lisbon away, Marseille away

And I agree with azreal, Ginger Mourinho lol what a joke.

Losing 2-0 to Blackburn on our own patch this season, and the manager (Megson) clearly didn't give a toss either, along with all the players.

In recent memory there has been alot worse but that certainly was humilating, the Ricketts own goal just made me want to jump into a hole and that performance just highlighted the thread I started about Megsons record in derby games was just horrific.

In recent times getting dicked by Boro 5-1 at the Riverside with them playing a weakened side was very humilating and I think they was 4-1 up at half time.
