Well, not so much a new contract, but the option of a further year has been taken up.

Quote
Tamir Cohen has extended his stay at Bolton after the club took up the option of a further year on his contract.

The Israel international was due to fall out of contract in the summer after two-and-a-half years at the Reebok Stadium.

However, after making 32 appearances this season, Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has decided to renew the player's contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2011.

"I want to stay at Bolton - I like everybody at the club," Cohen told Sportsworld.

"I feel that I have had a good season and I think my performances have helped to secure my future.

"Owen (Coyle) is a good manager and a positive person. I think we can get stronger and, with a few new players, we can have a better time next season."

Cohen has made 47 appearances for Bolton and scored five goals since his move from Maccabi Netanya in January 2008.

Happy enough. Decent squad player and I doubt he'll be on that much to consider it financially stupid. Think that seals McCann's exit too.

Decent player - not got the quality of Wilshere or Holden but he always gives 100% so im not fussed if he stays.

plus his wages will be low i suspect.

Not the kind of player we should be taking the option on if we want to improve the squad.

We can't replace all the players though, Howfen, so it is an intelligent move.  He won't see much game time, I'd guess, but he's decent backup for cheap.

Good player for 75k.
No twas 35k so yes i'm also guessing he's on the lower band wage wise, and not a bad bit of business good impact sub,but definitely not a starter.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression, so just give the twat a good shoeing, he'll respect you.

Not the best but stops us capitulating in that position if we don't get any more in and we do get some injuries there next season. Not quite good enough for the first team but can do a job, and is better than McCann. It's a yes from me.
