It is a disgrace, what on earth has Upson done to deserve a call up and Heskey!!!! Fcuk of Cappello, the most predictable squad in the history of English Football.

All my respect for Fabio has gone out of the window, i thought when he 1st took over here is a guy who will take no crap and pick the players he wants but yet again a manager listens to the media and not his head...well the meida or stu pearce.

Another WC that we are not going to win as most of the players were past it in the last major tournament but the media will make out that the players who have been picked are at there best, when in all honesty the likes of Heskey and Rio's best days are behind them.

It looks like a fcuking joke. All the games i have seen Villa play Heskey is one of the worst on the pitch. Carew is class better. Upson has been one of many in a bad West Ham team.

Is Carragher trying to rescue his horrible season, just so he can look back and say 2010 was a good year?

I think we can safely say the spanish and the other big teams are going to be laughing themselves silly with this selection....christ even the USA will fancy their chances against us now.

It's not a bad selection, the first XI is still one of the best in the world even if it isn't better than the elite like Spain, Brazil etc. However there are no shocks in there whatsoever and I'd have loved to have seen Agbonlahor and/or Young make the grade from Villa. But I won't judge Capello on a squad, I'll judge him on results.

As for Cahill I'm not surprised he didn't get in, had he been at Liverpool he would have despite their poor season. But the way I see it is less exposure for him, and hopefully another season at BWFC to follow for the lad.

I wish that Young had got the nod, preferably instead of Walcott who I think is vastly overrated or J Cole who has barely featured for Chelsea.

Don't think that Agbonlahor is good enough though. He's not a natural finisher although his pace will trouble the best defenders.

Each to their own though (which I'm sure is what Capello is saying)!

We'll be out in the quarters no matter who he picked.

Three Keepers always go to a tournament don't they?

I think these won't make the final cut:

Upson
Warnock
Huddlestone
SWP
Carrick
Bent

Can't really call the last one tbh...Probs someone out due to a fitness issue.

Yeah, I think so.

My 6 rejects are;

Dawson (shocking decision as he should be one of the first names on the list)
Warnock
Huddlestone
Johnson
Bent (again, the wrong decision in my mind)

Make of that what you will.

I'm not overly keen on that squad either. I think the defence is a big problem and with Rob Green likely to be first choice goalkeeper, the better sides will walk all over us.

From that 30, I see these 7 not going:
Baines
Dawson (Rather take him than King because of fitness worries)
Warnock
Huddlestone
A Johnson
Parker
Bent/Defoe (I'd rather take Bent than Defoe based on recent form. I'd like them both in the squad but Heskey won't be dropped)

Bent and Walcott out according to SSN. Feel sorry for Bent but not taking Walcott is the best decision Capello has made.

I know Walcott hasn't impressed in the last 2 warm ups, but I would have taken him, started Lennon or even J.Cole on the right, and brought Walcott on in the last part of a game when defenders tire.

Doesn't matter though because all he's shown recently is just pace which isn't enough, I think Bent did enough last season to deserve to go.

He has no final product no matter now tired the defenders are.

Bent has scored against each 'Big 4' team this season plus Spurs who actually finished in the top 4. Surely that demonstrates that it's not just the lower league teams he can score against (although, as usual, he scored a bundle against us). If he can score against the bigt clubs, he can rattle in a few against Algeria and co. He's been far more consistent than Defoe too to be fair. Persoanlly, I think we only need one 'target man' and that would be Crouch. I would have left Heskey behind but each to their own. Makes little difference anyway. Unless we can call up Messi, Fabregas, Ronaldo and Villa etc, we're still going home following the quarter finals.

I think Capello might put Lennon right, J.Cole left and put Gerrard behind Rooney, and might try Carrick with Lampard if Barry isn't fit at the start.

Carrick is shocking, I would rather have Parker filling in to be honest.
