Coming out of international retirement.
Thoughts?
On one hand his ability to play right back, centre back and if pushed even left back is very useful.
On the other hand he is a bottling, whiny, scouse c*nt.

Disapointed to be honest. If he had a stunning season then yeah why not, but he hasn't. He's been pretty poor and, again, it's just another example of more deserving players being overlooked e.g. Dawson who hasn't put a foot wrong all season.
Shame as it all but ends Cahill's England hopes too which would have added a couple of mil to his eventual sell on price.

He IS coming out or is this just a topic of discussion?
I'm in agreement with the other posts, if he'd played like had done since he retired, it would have been a no brainer, but he's not had a great season. Then again, who in an England shirt has? On current form it would have to be Dawson and King as the current centre-half partnership!

I dont want a player in the England squad who admitted in his book that when England lost it never really bothered him because at least it wasnt Liverpool losing.
I hate Carragher he has been shíte all season and he can fcúk off the tosser.

I just don't understand this at all, he has had a poor season and at his age it is a joke to playing international football, he will be skinned alive by the likes of brazil and spain.
If he takes him and leaves the likes of King and dawson then i would not bother to try and even make the england side in the future as this clown is the manager

What will you say if I tell you the papers are reporting that he is trying to get Paul Scholes out of retirement!?
I reckon we should bring Geoff Hurst out of retirement too.

Ferdinand has been crap all season when he has played but I bet he wll be the first one on the team sheet. I dont care if he is the captain, we want players who have been in good form and played alot of games, which something Rio Ferdinand hasnt!

Carragher is in the 30. Wanker.
Cahill didn't make the cut.
Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green, Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock, Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney:
From those I'd get rid of
Baines Warnock Upson J.Cole Huddlestone Walcott Bent

It's obvious Carragher would get in because he's the national side's version of the "popular kids". There's far too many of them now and it's almost impossible for someone who plays for a less fashionable side like Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan etc to get in - regardless of if they are better than their counterpart in the squad. Carragher shouldn't be in though, why should he just because he clicked his fingers and decided "oh I want to play actually." It's ridiculous.

This is exactly the reason I cannot get excited about England anymore. Too many overpaid, underperforming players who always get their own way while the unsung players of the season get overlooked. Gutted for Cahill but I'm pleased that Dawson got in (although he'll be the one left out of the final squad.
