Was welcomed to the club as much as Megson was - he was that unpopular!
Always on the edge of a reckless challenge or giving a stupid free kick away in a dangerous place - but does show commitment a degree of leadership that seems lacking elsewhere in the team.
Has ousted fans favourite Samuel from the position and has made the left back spot his own.
But can we afford a ticking time bomb with our wafer thin defence and lack of goals.
Should Robbo stay or go?

He's a terrible player, yes he may have passion and heart, but we can do better, Megson made some very good signings, Robinson was not one of them.
He offers nothings to our attacks, and his defending is very questionable, loads of mistakes, stupid tackles, he's had his good moments, and every credit to him for his work ethic, but the bad outweighs the good for me.
Unreliable, slow, clumsy, and wreckless.

And after Didledee's glowing reference I'm going to counter that he has probably been the most steady left back we've had in 5/6 years. (Samuel-average, Gardner-not a left back, Pedersen-definetly not a left back)
He isn't the most talented, but his defending is decent enough most the time, he is brilliant tackler(although sometimes dangerous). Great work ethic and clearly passionate about what he does, I'd rather have him apparently caring about our results than Jloyd Samuel who is too busy moaning and fighting with management when he doesn't get into the team-and isn't any better than Robbo in the first place.
He has had to deal with abit of stick for being percieved as "Megsons boy" but seems to have won round a fair majority of the fans and that is a great credit to him considering his limited ability.
Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer someone better next season, but ship Samuel out and in Robbo you'd have good back up.

Gardner won player of the year at left back, Robinson as only been here for 1 season. Gardner at that time was miles better than what Robinson is now.
I'm not asking for a Dani Alvez type wing back, but someone who's a step up, someone who can contribute to the team, his main aim is to defend, I know this, but it's not like he does it that well, he's sometimes like a raging bull with no control of himself, I've credited for his passion, but he's made a lot of mistakes and he's really average, I know all players make errors and it's easy to remember the bad times and hold a grudge. but I believe we can get better. I think he gives out poor vibes and like a mentality like when he has the ball it's like you think to yourself " what's he gonna do now, please don't mess up" etc.
Anyway pushing is mistakes/clumsyness to one side and ignoring the fact he's a very limited footballer, do we still play him because he we don't have no one has good, no one with the same passion and determination?
Surely we should be looking to sort out our defence, I don't blame just Robinson for our a pathetic goal difference this season, but if we we're to look at changes to be made I would start with Robinson, our right back area is just as bad at times.
Trying not to be to harsh , has I can remember a few good displays, and sometimes you just need a Robinson type player to just get rid without looking to relieve pressure and stuff like that, but if we want to progress, I would like players with Robinson's ability replaced.
Maybe an option of backup would be better, I agree Samuel has not been a good player, and Gardner is no longer the Gardner he was, Taylor has played there but he's better upfield. I just defo would like him out of the starting 11, he was dropped by Coyle just before Cahill got his blood clot, I just hope Coyle see's our poor areas and sorts them out for the good of the team and club.
In no way am I saying he's a bad person.

I actually don't mind Robinson as much as I thought I would when he came in. He isn't great but he's steady. Like Jimbo I would like to see him as the capable backup rather than rest our hopes on him in the first team but he isn't so bad as a squad player. Him and Samuel are both missing parts from the game. Robinson can tackle, and cares about the club but lacks pace and sometimes intelligence. Samuel is nippy but can't really do defending very well. If either was to go I'd possibly choose to keep Robinson if I'm honest, just for his seemingly strong loyalty to the cause.

We cannot afford a defender who gives away as many fk's as he does around the area, and he has a tendency to argue with the referees which can lead to cards. Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

Just for the record the stats show Cahill & Knight both made more mistakes that cost us goals than Robinson did. So do you want rid of Knight & Cahill as well?

Ok not the most talented left-back. But his commitment and passion for our club is great, which is more you can say for most of our players, and he has done quite well in the last few months. I find it brilliant how he made Aaron Lennon switch to the other wing, because Robbo was keeping him more than quiet. Also, that SWP had to be substituted not even a quarter-way into the game because of him. His welcome to the game tackles are brilliant, and I would like to see him here next season. Maybe as backup. But he is probably one of our most consistent defenders. Stay for me.

There were a few question marks about why we signed him but full credit to him, he has been very steady and isnt afraid to give someone a bollocking now and again. He played well against Spurs and as Bwfc4eva said, he made Lennon switch to the other wing; he had him in his back pocket.
Stay for me, anyone who works hard, and gets stuck when he has to like he does is fine with me.

For a guy who was predicted to be the worst signing of megson i think he has done very well, ok he is not the most exciting player but he works his socks off and as said previously gives the other players a bollocking if they are not pulling their weight which i like to see. If he had been here longer and was a few years young with a bit more pace id make him captain.

That pesky unwritten rule that says a captain should be under 25 and have spent at least 10 years at the club

I'll get slated for this but here goes, i think when cahill was injured Knight looked a better player but now he is back i think his forms dipped a bit.

Knight stepped up immensely when Cahill went out injured, he really filled the gap and Ricketts also played his part very well. Cahill we know has the talent but true, he hasn't been at his best since his return. But I think he may still be recovering personally. So put an immense Knight and a resurgent Cahill at the back and we don't have a bad CB pair really.

Which stupid mistake?
That was the softest penalty I've ever seen, he barely touched him, Choooochooooooooo just fell over
Only contribution I remember from Robbo yesterday was that excellent pin point cross right onto K.Davies' head for 1-0.

He is commited and passionate which is something which you couldnt label a few of our players but I would like to think we could do better at left back than Robbo. He is good to have in the squad though and we should be getting rid of JLS if anybody at leftback.

The Konchesky rumour has gone quiet which i cant see being true with the season he has just had with fulham Yet another stupid mistake from Robinson, gladly we didn't lose a 2-0 lead this time.
In all honesty i don't know what he actually did, ive replayed the highlights 5times to see why it was given and i can not see a thing unless the camera did not catch it.

Got to agree with that, I would like him in the squad but not as our first choice.
