I hope Sluffy doesn't mind me starting one of these off. Matty Taylor has been in for a lot of stick this season, he's had a poor season but I think I am right in saying last year he was our second highest league scorer with 11 league goals and this season he is our top league goalscorer? (correct me if I am wrong).
He has an eye for goal from midfield, he seems a very popular team player, he can take a good free kick and on his day can really deliver good balls. He also has a good few years in him.

I remember in his Portsmouth days when they signed him from Luton that Matty Taylor was a real exciting young player that I would have loved us to sign. Now he is a Bolton player and I can see he isn't quite as exciting a player as I thought. But one thing I will say is that when Taylor is in our team I do think he is a goal threat.

Would you sell him if a bid of around £3.5m came in for him? If we were to sell him you can safely say there is 10 goals a season going out of the team.

Would you keep him and look to get more out of him or let him move on if a fair offer came in?

Mixed mind on this, he has been unfairly treated by the fans IMO. He has had a bad season. If he has a good one next time around he'll be a god, but I think I'd let him go for around 3-4m, as you say he is one of few who has an eye for goal in the current squad. So stay for now.

No I don't mind at all Shaft.

Just didn't wan't to flood the forum with a load of these type of threads all at once, just in case sime people might find them all a bit too much.

Stay for me.

We can't afford to buy a whole new team, so keep what ever goal threats we have for now.

Stay. Fair enough he has had a few shockers but he's still come up with more goals than anybody else and in less games too.

Last season he was one of the fan favourites yet only scored 2 more goals than this season!

We bought him for £3.5m so to sell him for less than or even equal to that amount would be stupid because goalscoring midfielders aren't easy to find, especially at a price like that.

Im not sure about whether we should keep Taylor, if he produces form from this year then id let him or Gardner go and bring in a replacement, but im not sure who we could bring in to play on the left.

Go. He has had a horrible season. I dont care if he has scored those goals, he seems to have no pace and his set pices which used to be his strength have been bad.

How somebody from the Faroe Islands can criticise the ability of a footballer in the Premier League is beyond me, I'm betting most pub teams in this country would beat your national team.  I hope greenpeace kidnap you and make you eat Dolphin safe Tuna.

Why do you have problem with me saying Taylor has had a bad season and i want him to go? Beside those goals i hope everyone can agree that he has been far from what he was the last two seasons.

Yes for a good reason. Nearly all of them have been underperforming, and i think the players have more potential than those 36 points we have got.

Stay.

He's had a poor season and has still scored goals. Take of that what you may.

As long as he knows his place isn't guaranteed (which I think he had been thinking), then I still think we'll get a lot of good performances from him.

Stay - as long as he gets his head down and starts working hard for the team. I want no more of this "if the fans don't get off my back i'll leave" crap!

Stay.

Had a comparatively poor season by his standards, but seems to be finding his form again.

Definitely stay. We do need to improve the squad admittedly but not by taking away the players that could just as likely have a good season as a bad one. There's no guarantee we'd find any better down the left than Gardner and Taylor so until we do, they both stay. It makes no sense to get rid yet, he's not an old player and clearly has the ability within him as he showed in 08/09. I'm backing him to get back to that next year.

Stay because he's the only player in the team capable of taking a set piece and scoring from midfield. Until we get someone better, he has to be in the squad.
