Granted we've had some excellent results- but I just do not understand his squad selections. Form certainly plays no part in it. If you've had a few caps then you won't be dropped seems to be the way of it.

I get the feeling he has fcúk all idea of half the players and the only way the likes of Cahill or Shawcross get in the team is when Baldini or Pearce point it out.

I could practically name his World Cup squad now.

Green will get in ahead of Hart
Upson and Lescott will get in ahead of Dawson or Cahill
Barry(like him but he hasnt had the greatest season) and even Jenas will get in ahead of Parker
Heskey and Carlton Cole will get in ahead of Zamora and Bent

Im sure there are others, those are just off the top of my head. I simply cannot understand his selection policy and despite some good results in qualifcation I think it will be the downfall of our WC campaign.

Prove me wrong Fabio. Prove me wrong.

I agree Jimbo. I'm sure he stated that he would give everyone a chance, and yet he still persists with Green, Upson, Lescott, and even Barry in the squad, when they all have had fairly poor seasons. Cahill will probably not make the England squad unless he moves to a bigger club, or we become a top ten club next season.

I hate to say this, but Dawson hardly every gets mentioned for a call-up and is miles ahead of Cahill atm. He is the captain at a top 6 club, and should be getting much more praise than he is doing. I don't think, after the injury, that Cahill has a chance, nor do I really think he should.

But I agree also, I have been surprised by his selections with all the talk of 'egos going out of the window' etc. Green and Upson shouldn't be anywhere near the England squad. Being English is the only thing they have on their side.

Wait, sorry, they should be in. I forgot Bobby Moore played for West Ham...

Ask any international footballer past or present and they'll tell you there is a world of difference between being a good club player and making it in the international arena.

It's also not just about form, it's about how players deal with pressures on and off the pitch. Take Heskey for example, he's a pretty average player in my opinion but England seem to play better when he's in the team. He's also level headed...the perfect foil to Rooney's aggresion.

Some of the players you are suggesting are laughable, none more so than Gary Cahill. He's been poor this season playing in one of the poorest teams....if he can't handle Darren Bent how do you expect him to handle Messi & Ronaldo? Get real.

Capello is overrated, I would rather have a young English manager like Alan Knill.

Most defenders can't seem to handle Darren Bent this season!

Hard to judge an England manager really. Will any England boss be deemed "good" if he doesn't win a World Cup, despite us clearly not being anywhere near as good as the real favourites - in every World Cup? I'd say Eriksson was arguably the most successful boss I've seen, impeccable in the qualifiers, rescued us for WC 2002 after Keegan's horror-show, got us to three quarter finals, and lost two of them on penalties. Yet I seem to remember the country turning their back on him after the second Portugal defeat.

Capello has only been able to be judged on one thing so far and that was qualifying for a major tournament, something his predecessor couldn't manage. Easy group you might say, but so was the last one.

But yeah the squad selection does look tiringly familiar. The first team has been the same now for about 6-8 years with the odd one or two changing each tournament but maybe if Capello can keep himself out of the press over the next few weeks he might have a chance at actually being able to let England prove themselves on the world stage - before our own press knock us out before we've even started.

Good luck Fabio, let's see what you can do.
