That's because the very least we (the fans) should expect from any player who pulls on the white shirt is 100% commitment at all times.

I'm not disagreeing with this.  My point is that fans tend to assume players who have talent (Borgetti, Klasnic, Wilshere, etc.) are "lazy" while players who couldn't hit water from a boat are giving 100% effort.  This isn't fair.
