Seems like if he was the man picking the team he would have klasnic on from the start which is probably the best bet if we are to stay up.

We need goals and having our leading goalscoring striker on the bench isnt going to help matters, no matter how good elmander can get with a few goals...when ever he decides to get them.

What more did you expect to change then Bowtun? A 15-game winning streak to fire us into Europe? Lift the FA Cup aswell in May? Things are never going to change that dramatically when you change managers during a season. How can they with exactly the same players?

But substituted him after 60 mins for a defensive midfielder.

But substituted him after 60 mins for a defensive midfielder.

Which allowed Davies to move from the right side of midfield to play in the lone striker role.

I think you will find we were playing 4-4-2 before the substitution, with Lee on the right.

The most baffling decision I've ever seen as well.

If I was manager I would pick Klasnic to start as well. He's the only player in the squad capable of scoring a goal. I know he doesn't do much else in terms of work rate but who gives a toss, HE KNOWS WHERE THE NET IS, GET HIM ON!

I beg to differ. The whole point of changing managers is to change things.

Yes, he has mostly the same players (although this is also Coyle's fault as he should have used the January transfer window much better) but I think most of us expected the players to start giving 100%. I accept that the football is more pleasing on the eye under Coyle but I think the players are giving Coyle even less than they gave Megson.

I'm sorry, but after witnessing the events at Blackburn & Sunderland I just see Coyle as another Megson, albeit with more charisma.

Couldn't agree more. Elmander has had so many chances to live up to his price tag it's unbelievable. Klasnic is a bit of a lazy bugger but he should be playing every game.

As Elmander keeps showing nothing, Klasnic might be a little lazy, but he is ten times better than Elmander and i think its a big fat joke that he is on bench. Like his name, he is Klas and should start every game remaning or Bolton will be relegated

I'm shocked we actually agree on something footballing wise. Elmander obviously isn't up to the standard of the Premier League, he's had more than twice the chances that other strikers at other clubs have had, and he's not taken it. He'll be good in another league, but not this one.

I echo everyone here who says that Klasnic should be playing every week. Elmander is a good link up player but he is not a regular goal scorer like Klas. Maybe if we can get ourselves mathematically self we could try dropping Davies and playing Klasnic up top with Elmander just linking off him. Worth a punt I reckon.

Whatever division we are in next season Elmander MUST NOT be lining up in our team. He has proved time and time again he isn't good enough.

Even if he scores in every one of our remaining games, it won't change the fact he was crap for the previous 70-odd games.

If we did go down we wouldn't have to worry, there would be no way in hell Elmander would stay. As for the manager changing things in terms of personnel it's almost impossible at the time he came in, but I do think the attitude of the club has changed for the better. Obviously there have been a few tough games but we are a team at the wrong end of the league; it comes with the territory of fighting relegation. But while Blackburn and Sunderland were dreadful, Wigan at home was a great performance as was 85 minutes or so at Upton Park.
