http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11672_6059989,00.htmlGary Megson insists he wants to return to management and admits he is frustrated at being on gardening leave.
Megson was sacked by Bolton in December after a poor run of results tested his relationship with Trotters fans, but he is set to be paid by the club until the end of the year.
The Reebok Stadium outfit failed to agree a satisfactory severance package with the 50-year-old, following sacking him from his reported £1.2million-a-year contract.
And Megson believes being placed on gardening leave and the restrictive compensation agreement is preventing him retuning to management.
"I'm on gardening leave and it's not something I'm happy about," he said.
"It sticks in the throat a bit because people might think I'm not available for work, but I want to get back into management quickly.
"Bolton were in a mess when I came in. There was chaos on and off the field but we kept them up twice.
"To be put on gardening leave after the work I did there is not ideal.
"I agreed the package with Bolton, but I will forego the money to manage again."
Megson spent two years with Wanderers and has had previous stints managing a number of clubs, most recently West Brom, Nottingham Forest and Leicester. Interesting article. Hopefully he does manage a club soon, as it'll mean more money for us. Please let Wolves sack MCarthy and hire him.

Bolton were in a mess when I came in We weren't exactly vying for a European spot when he got the boot. He still can't help having parting shot. Fúck him I hope he never manages a professional team again.

In a mess?
How does he work that out, yes we were bottom of the league but we were in europe with one of the best strikers in the world in our ranks in Anelka....so i wouldnt say it was exactly a mess.

To be fair, we were in a mess. We had lost our long standing and very sucessful manager, his assistant manager and replacement, two first choice centrebacks, half the backroom staff, were bottom of the league and had an aging squad that had won four games all year. Not to mention we later sold our best player in Anelka. What constitutes a mess to you guys? For me, that qualifies. A lot of teams in that position e.g. Charlton for example, have ended up getting relegated. We were in the shíte and we stayed up. Thank fcúk that we did or we could have droppped like a stone. For keeping us up, Megson deserves some credit. However, following that first season, his performances has declined rapidly. However, I still think that we're in a better position in terms of the team and its potential than we were when he took over, even if the league positon didn't relfect it at the time. Looking back, I'm gald we got Megson to rebuild and then got Coyle as I think the job would have been too big for him at that stage of his management career. Now, assuming we stay up, I think we are in a much better position to push on.

Ok fair enough DH but it annoys me how he makes himself out to be the best manager ever for doing this and every interview he has done since leaving he says the same thing!... He's probably like uncle albert on Only Fools, everyone who passes him all he comes out with is ''during the war i once saved bolton from relegation..we were in trouble you know''

I hear that there is a managerial job going with the local McDonalds football team!
I understand they are in a real complete mess - just perfect for the BEST manager in the world !

I see he's still singing the same old song. Give it up Megson, you were diabolical here, anyone with any ounce of footballing knowledge could have improved the squad with the money you were given, it's hardly an achievement.
I will feel genuinely sorry for any club that ends up with him, unless it's someone like West Ham, that would be hilarious!

You're forgetting that "everyone in football" knows that Megson did a brilliant job here, and that it was the fans fault when we lost!

There is absolutely no way that Megson will be hired by West Ham.
Even Burnley didn't want him, nor Hull.

Ok fair enough DH but it annoys me how he makes himself out to be the best manager ever for doing this and every interview he has done since leaving he says the same thing!... Oh yeah, I agree with the fact that he thinks he did a far better job than he actually did. He peaked in his first season by keeping us up. His points per game average decreased sharply after that as did the quality of his signings, Lee aside. He won't end up at WHU. If they thought we were harsh on him, imagine how the West Ham fans would react with their demands for god, attacking, winning football and their delusions of thinking they're a big club. It make us seem like we actually liked Megson.

I dont think that is a very nice thing to say about world cup winners, show some respect.

He kept us up, which is something that hobbit lee would never have managed. I would agree that during 2010 we were terrible under his reign but some of you go on like he is Josef Fritzl. I am greatful for keeping us up although it was partly due to default as some of the other sides were very poor but he did it regardless. I am sure he will gain employment again at least in the championship, I never have disliked the man but disliked some of the things he did.

He might have been bad but give the poor guy some credit. He didn't take charge of any matches in 2010.

When Megson signed, I was one of the very few that gave him a chance. I didn't boo, I gave him time to build a team and he blew it. I started to lose patience when we threw a 2-goal lead away against Blackburn at their place. Not just that, I think that was one of the first times he had a proper dig at the supporters. I ignored that one as a one-off, gave him the benefit of the doubt, heat of the moment and all that. I started to dislike the guy on a personal level when he was continually slagging the supporters off, tarring us all with the same brush even though it was just a minority of idiots booing. He continued his bickering with the supporters and as a professional he should have just kept quiet. He sings the same old song over and over, he's annoying. He'll probably get employment somewhere else but it's not going to be half the job what he had here.
