The only player who I'd want Coyle to bring from Bunley is Fletcher to be honest. Pacey (especially compared to our other options), good eye for a goal, relatively young at 23 etc.

Their defence has been awful though and that is the main reason why they're in the bottom three so there is no chance I'd want any of their back four .

I agree with Fletcher, he's one of a few decent players at Burnley.

Although, I think Mears is a good player, definitely the best defender, I think we need to strengthen our Right-Back position, and we could get him for around 1mill.

I presume this is some kind of wind up or late april fools:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2922499/Coyle-counting-on-Carlisle.html

He's basically a poor man's Zat Knight who has only ever played badly whenever ive seen him play.

I saw that in the paper today and it was just going through my head 'good lord Coyle, please no'. As you point out, he's a poor poor man's Zat Knight, he's old, he's shíte and he's definitely not the leader we crave in the centre of defence.

Is he even in their team? Burnley's defence is awful, it makes us look like we have Cannavaro and Nesta at the back. Come on Coyle we need better than that

Bolton are again being linked with a summer swoop for Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O'Neil.

Wanderers were first linked with the midfielder when former boss Gary Megson was in charge and now his successor Owen Coyle is also said to be keen on the player.

O'Neil, who has made 99 appearances for Boro since signing from Portsmouth appears to have played his last game for Boro as the Teessiders will have to pay Pompey another £1million if he makes 100 appearances.

Boro expect O'Neil to leave in the summer anyway so will leave O'Neil on the sidelines until they sell him in the summer for a fee in the region of £3million.

O'Neil would prefer to move back south which would make Fulham favourites to do a deal but Wanderers boss Owen Coyle would hope to keep him in the north if the club stay up.

Was a player I hoped we'd go after last summer when Boro went down. Good attacking midfielder, something we've lacked for a while, since the days when Nolan was any good i guess. At £3mill, i'd be pretty happy if we got him.

Seemed to be a shining star in Boro's 08/09 season. Have not seen much of him since he scored against us.

We were always going to be linked with Burnley players, luckily it's two of their better players this time, Wade Elliot and Steven Fletcher:

Rather have Fletcher.

Wade Elliot isn't good enough to get in the Burnley team. A touch of the Matty Taylor's maybe he flatters to decieve(not that he's anywhere near as good as Matt Taylor) but most Burnley fans have been begging for Coyle and Laws to drop him all season.

Fletcher I would have.

From the above Sky report:

"Coyle is also thought to be targeting winger Wade Elliott but Burnley chief Fletcher is keen to fend off any potential suitors.

"It's part and parcel of Burnley as a club," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"People will think we are rich pickings for the wealthy teams but we intend to keep hold of our best players whether we are in the Premier League or Championship...."

What has he been smoking to think that the "wealthy teams" want his "rich pickings/best players"?

This isn't Chelsea (I wish) or even Portsmouth are look like being relegated...both having the above-mentioned "rich pickings".

He's trying to drum up business and push up the prices.

They're board have shown how useless they are, it's just a matter of time before Gartside shows them up again.

That's got me thinking, apart from Shittu we don't have any African players, fancy that.

Yeah, it's a good suggestion IMO. I think Pompey have some good players. Kevin-Prince-Boateng (gayest name ever!) and Piquionne look decent. Obviously Jamie O'Hara, but I cant see us having the money to buy him with reports that tottenham what 5-6m for him.

It's not a suggestion, it's a fact. My BWFC mole heard Gartside on the phone to Papa's agent. He was hiding in the office safe at the time (my mole, not Papa's agent).

Like the clubs office has a safe, we all know that Gartside keeps his money in his trousers, now pull the other one.
