Is it just me that thinks that Community Safety Officers are the worst invention of recent memory, they have no power what so ever and all they can do is ask you to stay where you are while they call a proper copper.  That is something you or I are capable of at no cost to the tax payer, surely these people are paid for this role and every one I ever see seem to spend there time chatting up school girls like a nonce with a badge.

Gordon Brown/David Cameron please rid us of these fools.

Next they'll need another CSO to protect the CSO who is protecting the lollipop lady.

I think they're pretty useless. I remember seeing something on the news a year or 2 ago about a kid drowning in a pond in wigan. The CSO's got to the pond and just stood there and waited for the police to come. The kid died and the CSO's said they didn't try and rescue the kid because they weren't trained to do that and it wasn't part of their job. Waste of fuckin money!!!!

I'd have thought 99.9% of people wouldn't have even thought about if they were trained or if it was part of their job description and just jumped in to try and save the kid.

In my experience they tend to create more work than they actually resolve. They do have some day to day uses, but (pound for pound) you can probably get one fully trained copper instead of two to three PSCOs. A far better investment . They are about as much use as tits on a fish IMO. There are some decent ones, but they are few and far between.

The best acronym that I've ever heard about these numpties is CHIMPS - Completely hopeless in most policing situations
