We won 4-0 two games ago  Roll Eyes

true. Why cant they bring anything from that game into the everton game? Wigan had just beaten Liverpool 1-0 and dominated the whole game.

I cant remember a more boring season than this with such predictable results for us. Roll over and die against anyone top 12, scrap like mad against crap teams at the bottom.

I totally disagree its because the teams we lose to always have better players. This season more than any the bottom to middle teams have been taking points of so called class teams, the one glaring exception being us.

The players seem to have the same lack of ambition as some posters on here that we've beaten Wigan so nobody will expect us to do anything at Everton. This defeatist attitude has been with this group of players now for nearly three seasons when we have become the easiest team in the league to beat and we all know that when we concede first it's game over.

It's the attitude in the dressing room that's wrong before kick off. At the end of last season, Megson said after another tame surrender at Eastlands- " If we had needed to get something, we would have" In other words the players pick and choose when the effort goes in.

Pathetic! I agree with those who say if this is as good as it gets lets drop down a league where the football on view just might give us all a bit more enjoyment.

To be honest it would be very boring in my opinion. I wouldn't see it as an achievement beating teams like Doncaster would you?

Probably be a better game than some we,ve sat through this season.  We've had three seasons now of win 9, lose 19- rarely if ever get anything from anyone above us.

Perhaps it's just me but I'm bored with the predictably of our results and performances.

We have a different manager for god sake ,he hasnt been able to make his mark on the team fully because as Sammy Lee showed if you try to build rome in a day it will go tits up.  I am really looking forward to next season under a manager who loves our football club and its fan and will try to make coming to the reebok enjoyable again.

I appreciate that under the ginger sleep doctor things were wank but just try to be optimistic about what next season could bring.

I'm blatently ignoring the debate Natasha has single-handedly managed to stoke up once again because I would just say the same thing I've said the last ten times we've discussed it this month. If you want to know my views on it, look for them they are in the forum somewhere.

As for the original topic, not a chance Coyle would leave now. End of story.

Completely agree, FFS, Coyle has potential to be one of the best things that ever happenend to Bolton Wanderers and this is not his team... Come the summer, we will all see things beginning to change for example the sale of that plank matty taylor...

Makes me laugh how everyone was so quick to roll out the 'give him time' arguement for megson yet people aren't happy with coyle.... I'm personally delighted with his appointment and cannot wait to see what next season brings. When he came in, we were up shíte creek without a paddle and i fully expected a long hard scrap right to the last day of the season. If i'm honest, i thought he wouldnt pull it off but after a few weeks in the job, the guy has transformed the club for me, the whole attitude around the place seems miles better and once again everyone is in it together... Just look at how much breathing space we have at the moment.... I appreciate that it will become a lot tighter after the next three games but i think we will atleast pick up another 6 points and will easily be safe...

What gets on my tits is that since we have won a couple of games, people seem to now expect us to be finishing 7th or 8th... FFS Natasha, get a life, you spend all your time wumming on here, didn't you say you thought we'd go the rest of the season without winning after we appointed coyle? So why the hell are you bitching about losing to everton away? We were doing fine in that game till the sending off and we ended up getting the double barrel with the resulting free-kick... I dont think we'd of lost that game if that had gone wide...

The future under coyle is bright people, next season, we will be the team to fear once again, watch this space!!

Dont disagree with that, just saying I cant wait for this shíte, tedious season to finish.

Coyle needs a big clearout this Summer or we'll only get the same old stuff next season, struggling to beat anyone above us and just scraping enough to survive.

I dont expect top 6 stuff but no reason why we cant be a comfortable top 10 without the inevitable relegation battle for most of the season.

the inevitable relegation battle for most of the season.
But isnt that what makes the league exciting? - granted I would also rather see our team battling for the top 10 spots.

We were playing shíte. We had one decent chance the whole game, for the rest Everton had pushed us all the way back, and the players showed nothing to try to steal the points, you call that fine?

The only time this season might rise to the heights of " dull " for us is if we need to win the last home game to survive. Not sure if over 30 games of mediocrity makes up for that.

Just what team do you think you are following Faroe? Everton are a team who are very strong at home and away, have now won seven in a row at Goodison Park, and but for an iffy start could well be in the race for a Champions League spot. Bolton on the other hand, are slowly rebuilding after a couple of years consisting of below-par performances and struggle after struggle. We cannot go to a place like Goodison Park and just go all out for the win, you know why? What happened at Arsenal when we did that? What happened at Sunderland when we did it?

Coyle was playing a smart game, keep it tight, keep them from creating chances, keep it at 0-0 for as long as possible, and hope that maybe, just maybe, we could get a 4-on-3 break and nick the win on the counter. I know some don't like us having to play that way, but right now we have no choice if we want points on the road.

In the first half we did have a few decent chances in the first half, I can remember one from Everton and 2/3 from us. It wasn't much but had we put one in, it would have been a perfect first half performance in many people's eyes.

Obviously though the 70th minute ruined the plan completely, a sending off and a goal straight after will do that to anyone. In fact if it happened to United or Chelsea (who also both lost there I might add) I wouldn't have backed them to come back neither.

If you think we were playing 'shite' then you have not got a clue, not a clue at all.

That same Everton who just beat City away? Good lord - people expect us to win every game and walk the Champions League next season on here!

Coyle to Celtic? Pur-lease - why would he bother going to the SPL?!

I pity anyone who is happy with the current situation. I can only guess you must be under 25 or new to watching BWFC.

Anyone who sat/stood through the excitement of the early-to-mid 90's would never settle for the utter guff on show now. Football has become more about your league position than the football itself.

I agree to a point, with Coyle inheriting Megsons hoofers ( bar a few ), He has done a decent job getting us to play more on the floor, you cant change a decades worth of type of play in just three months. But I am confident that Coyle will make 'Dirty Bolton' a thing of the past. Just look at Tottenham in the cup, there was no worrying about safety, so therefore, Coyle showed us what we are capable of. I can see us being in the Premiership and playing Good football under Coyle in the next few, if not next season, years.

I hope you are right, I really do. I'd rather try and play football and go down than continue the Megson legacy and play defensively to stay up.

Utter garbage. While I realise it's not realistic to expect to beat the so-called bigger teams week in week out, I do expect the odd victory or draw as regularly happened under Allardyce.

Wolves, Stoke, Fulham etc all manage to do this because they have half-decent managers who can change tactics if necessary.

Bolton, on the other hand, have a manager who seems to lose the plot away from the Reebok and players who really don't give a fcuk.
So Coyles not on your christmas card list then?

I've said numerous times I would much rather see exciting football on show and accept a lower league position than vice versa. The football is starting to get better, even with KD in the team. Give it time, it will take a lot of it to recover from the mess that Gary Megson made.
