... is now a possibility following the dismissal of Phil Brown as Hull City manager. Steve Coppell, Gareth Southgate and Paul Jewell are also in the running. Who wants to see Gar at "that place" with "that lot"?

Is Megson not still doing his garden up though, meaning he can't sign up with anyone else? Not sure how that really works could some enlighten me? Oh that bloke would get some stick from me next season if he did go to Hull and they stayed up (and we did of course).

Been on the Hull forum a lot today to help price up their next manager for work.
Here is one delighted fan when he heard the news of Megson...

What he said. Lowerz, do they really trawl the forums to gauge the odds? Interesting that, especially when you don't know which posters spout bollocks. I supposed you can get some good inside knowledge though. Anelka had barely cleared out his locker before it was posted on WWs. One of the lads even pictured him outside the Bok putting a bin bag full of kit in his Bentley.

Yes mate it's one of the many things we do. Obviously weight of money is huge, but it's not always gospel. We have been top price Megson all afternoon and still only taken 6 bets. If we want to find out who we should be avoiding laying its a good idea to get involved with people who visit these forums. For example, I have a mate who posts on the Man Utd forum RedIssue. Obviously i wouldn't know who is a reliable source on there but he has a better idea of who is usually on the ball, and will pass on any info. Manager markets tend to be loss leaders, most firms will budget to lose a bit of money on them in the hope of attracting publicity and custom.

That's a fair comment. I hadn't had a flutter in ages until I betted on OC's appointment. Damn you and your loss making scams! Interesting background as well. Cheers

That's my understanding too. He was sacked in the last week of December and placed on a 12 month gardening leave, meaning he can't become manager of another club in the meantime.

We should waive that if he becomes hull city boss as it will mean the relegation places are cemented.

My understanding is if Megson wants the Hull job/Hull want Megson, then he'd either have to walk away from 8 months guarenteed pay for doing nothing OR Hull would have to pay US compensation!

This would be brilliant if hull were to appoint him, funny how things work out:-
The team who are going to appoint him were the team that kinnda got him the sack after the 2-2 draw a coupld of month ago.

I think who ever takes over will only be on par or shitter than phil brown so IMO it was pointless sacking him.

I know a lot of Hull City fans and I would genuinely feel sorry for them if they got Gary Megson. Part of me would laugh but I would know exactly how they would feel if they got him.
On the other hand, if West Ham got him, I would be in hysterics!

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Thank-you-Phil-Brown/387291517320?v=wallSome Hull fans must have liked Phil Brown, some even call him legend! Paul Pexton: The most successful Manager Hull City have ever had! If you are going to get Megson, I really don't see the point. He is good at getting teams up from the Championship/Div 1 but unable to manage in the Premier League! Attendances set to drop at the KC under Megson? (With that the sponging git will probably rule himself out of the running to continue taking our money....)

Really good post from a seemingly educated Hull fan off that group (though he's quoted someone else): The singing, the tan, the pitch team talk, the game plan, the naughty step, the pink jumper, the Campbell saga, the selling of Turner, the Championship play-offs, the Wembley trip, the City centre parade, the ringing of the Premier League Bell, the Emirates, Old Trafford battle, staying up, beating the richest club in ......the world, the Dream. Thank You Phil Brown, you will always be remembered at Hull City. Have to admit stolen from a mate but truely well said. Reminds me a bit of when Big Sam left us, end of an era kind of feeling.
