I think that is a good team, however I would rather have Bent in than Crouch, Crouchy cant score against teams with a decent Defence/Goalkeeper.

Where's the pace though on the wings? I don't see much variety in the middle, unless our full backs play like gungho Wingbacks.

Don't see what going with pace will do exactly when we have no international proven or frankly international quality players who can play in wide positions.

In a few years Milner will be in there but he isn't exactly rapid. Joe Cole is about the best of the rest on the wings but he isn't fast either.

Go with the current midfield of Lennon-Barry-Lampard-Gerrard and we will struggle to make it past the round of 16 because 1- Gerrard has been woeful most the season anyway- he's even worse when you are playing him out of position. Lennon/SWP are good. But not good enough. There is no creative midfielder who can get the ball down and pass it ala the top international teams. About the only Englsh player we have able to do that is Micahel Carrick- thus why a place needs to be found for him in our midfield.

We have Glen Johnson and Ashley Cole two of the best attacking full backs in the world(although one is piss poor defensivley). They provide more than enough width. At least we'd have abit of balance to the team. Cole rampaging down the wings and Gerrard gawking around in no-mans land trying to work out where Don Capello wants him to play is what we have at the moment.

Ideally Hargreaves would be in the Barry role but he is deeiiid-or as good as. Infact fcúk it, I'd even have Muamba in the Barry role if it was made clear his sole aim is to sit in the hole, cover the wing backs if needs be and don't think about trying an extravegant pass or shooting whatsoever. Just don't cross the halfway line in general.

Variety in the middle? Plenty of variety.

Barry as a holding player-although he wouldn't ideally have been my first choice.
Carrick as the creative
Lampard as the goal threat
Gerrard as err, I'm not sure why Gerrard is really in the England team anymore but I figure Fabio is going to play him so why fight it. At least he won't be played on the fcuking wing and 'legend' has it he can link up with Rooney.

If by no pace you were refering to Walcott, I will answer that he is one of the most average players for a top four team. Eboue is a better player, and hopefully gets the nod against Barca ahead of Walcott for Arsenals sake. Most Arsenal fans think he's shite, and if I was an Arsenal fan I'd already want Wilshere in my team ahead of Walcott because other than being fast he has fcúk all of a footballing brain.

Give Abel Xavier Dwain Chambers' pace and he'd probably make it as a Premier League winger(when he isn't out with a drugs ban), because defenders will always struggle against pace, especially when Walcott is coming on as a sub. But purely as a footballer, Walcott would be better back at Southampton than at Arsenal.

Be-Sharps, you know, JIMBO > FABIO

Walcott has to be the most overrated player I think we have ever had, and fcúk me we like to overrate their players.

If I was ENgland manager, there is no way I'd take Walcott to the World Cup.

Tell you what it's so hard to put a starting 11 together for this world cup. I think Crouch has to start alongside Rooney and I would definitely put Milner out on the left. Depending on Lennon's form/fitness he would be my first choice right winger. Centre mid? No idea. Ledley King to start at centre half.

Since Rooney has proven he can play in a 4-5-1 then there is surely only one formation...will Fabio pick it? Will he balls. He will stick with a 4-4-2 with Gerrard out wide left and Heskey up front.

                HART

     JOHNSON RIO TERRY COLE

             KING/PARKER

LENNON GERRARD LAMPARD MILNER
                 ROONEY

That team will do for me although I would like to see Adam Johnson on the left and Milner on the right.

Walcott is like David Lee. Pretty crap player but his pace gets him into positions others don't get into.

I'd take him purely to bring on as sub for the last 20 minutes. He does have potential to run sides ragged at that stage.

Your constant lack of respect of David Lee sickens me!
