This would be mine, if all players are injury free.

                                   [GK] D.James

   [RB] G.Johnson [CB] R.Ferdinand [CB] J.Terry [LB] A.Cole

[RM] T.Walcott  [CM] F.Lampard   [CM] S.Gerrard [LM] J.Cole

                                              [ CF] W.Rooney
                       [ST] J.Defoe

If Hargreaves was fit and had played a lot [like he did @ WC06] i would have him in, not botherd if it's Walcott or Lennon.

Capello might go with Defoe and Rooney against lesser teams, but i wouldn't be surprised if it's Heskey or Crouch with Rooney especially against big teams.

J.Cole is great on the left for England, has he's proved, but had a injury hit season, so if he's not going, id probably play Gerrard there and put in Barry as the holder.

Beckham will go but i really don't see him starting matches, but he can have an impact, it'll be his last World Cup, last minute in the final 0-0 Beckham steps up! can you just imagine atmosphere if he scored![like Greece]

I think Joe Hart will be Englands No.1, but not just yet, don't really think Green is any good, and James is not brilliant, but i think James is the better keeper, only really lost the No.1 shirt due to injury, and not got it back.

On paper we have a fantastic team, and some quality back up. Can't wait!

D.James

G.Johnson (if fit)
R.Ferdinand (if fit)
J.Terry (if not still in bad form)
A.Cole (if fit)

F.Lampard
M.Carrick
G.Barry

S.Gerrard

W.Rooney
E.Heskey/P.Crouch

That really is the worst England team in ages going into a major tournement although its more balanced imo than the one Capello tries to play at the moment.

At least with Carrick we have a midfielder who can pass the ball and create chances. We have no wingers who are good enough to play at international level and Cole and Johnson are very good at getting forward so to me the logical option is to let them get forward in attack with Barry sitting deep. (Would have preferably been Hargreaves but he's crippled) Gerrard is always useless for England but let him sit in the hole behind Rooney and Heskey you'll probably get more out of him than playing him on the left which is just ridiculous.

I can't believe Rio Ferdinand will actually be going to the World Cup, nevermind also being captain! He's played about 7 or 8 games all season but is still guaranteed a place in the squad. I don't care who you are or who you play for, if he hasn't been playing he can't go to a tournament IMO.

There is a rule which states that if you play for a top 4 club then you are automatically selected for the world cup, no matter how crap you are, how old you are or even if you havn't played a competitive game all season. You are guaranteed a place, full stop.

Agreed. It's similar to the MOTD way of doing things. If you are a top four club, you will be in the top four games first on. This is certain, no matter of other results, ramifications, scorelines, performances or anything. Except of course on the last day if the title is sorted, then all relegation-related games will be on simultaneously, but that's it.

If your game is truly amazing you will be on first but it has to be a true spectical , I remember when the Pompey 6 Reading 4 game was on first but I dont recall if many top 4 teams was playing so I could be wrong.

Not always, I mean a perfect example was Saturday. There was only 3 games on in total, a predictable Arsenal win over Burnley, a predictable United win over Wolves and our completely unexpected first away win in six months that included a sending off and the bar being hit twice.

it was only a 2-1 win though , if we had won 4-3 then we would have been first.  I agree that MOTD always bad mouths us and puts on later incorrectly but I dont think the weekends game was a shining example of that.

Hart* (He is actually a great goalkeeper, Miles better than the other two fools.)
James (donkey)
Green ( I think West Ham are completely overrated, this guy being the main culprit)

Johnson* ( we have no good right backs )
Richards

A.Cole* ( if fit )
Baines or Warnock ( could not decide )

Terry*
Ferdinand*
Cahill ( Twice the player of Upson, young and will be one of the suprise performers if he goes )
Shawcross ( see Cahill )
Lescott ( no others I could think of, had to settle for him )

Lennon*
Gerrard*
Lampard*
Milner ( Versatile )
Barry
J.Cole*
Downing or A.Young ( See Warnock/Baines )
Walcott

Rooney*
Defoe*
K.Davies or Heskey or Crouch ( I would love to see SKD picked, most underrated striker Atm, Heskey or Crouch will be chosen before Davies Sad )

Defiantly the worst England Squad going into the World Cup I've seen.

Also I think Capello should give some Other players a chance rather than the overrated fodder!

You missed out Walcott, after his performance against Barca, he's now the new Pele again.

I knew I forgot someone!

Take out Agbonlahor and put Walcott in.

Swap Zamora for Crouch.

But he's captain, you would have to take that away before dropping him.

Fair point, attacking wise it would be my choice.

As for other countries having stronger teams your totally right thats why i dont think we will get past the quaters.
