O.K Folks, realistically OC will need to set the lads a target of roughly 14 points to ensure survival. 11 or 12 may be enough this year, but I think the 40 point mark will see us comfortably safe. How do you see our run-in panning out?

1) Saturday, 6 March 2010
West Ham v Bolton, 15:00
DrawWest Ham may be a little ring rusty, plus our style of play usually means we do o.k against them

2) Tuesday, 9 March 2010
Sunderland v Bolton, 19:45
LoseSunderland have been dragged into the relegation battle with a poor run of form, but they have a nice run of home games approaching and should have too much for us at their place

3) Saturday, 13 March 2010
Bolton v Wigan, 15:00
WinPossibly one of the hardest to call, I'm sure it will be a dour affair as per usual, with the one goal separating the sides

4) Saturday, 20 March 2010
Everton v Bolton, 15:00
LoseEverton almost back to a full quota of players, and looking strong in the past few weeks - bar yesterday

Saturday, 27 March 2010
5) Bolton v Man Utd, 17:30
LoseWayne Rooney

Saturday, 3 April 2010
6) Bolton v Aston Villa, 15:00
DrawJust have a feeling that Villa may start to blow out towards the end of the season, although I can't see us breaching their back 4

Monday, 12 April 2010
7) Chelsea v Bolton, 20:00
LoseNot one of our easiest fixtures! I think we may rest a few for the game at the Brit Stad the following weekend

Saturday, 17 April 2010
8 ) Stoke v Bolton, 15:00
DrawHopefully GC will be back in and match fit by this point, and the fact that Stoke are relatively safe will see us battle for a point here

Saturday, 24 April 2010
9) Bolton v Portsmouth, 15:00
WinTypically a good fixture for us, although Pompey showed a bit of spirit at Burnley this should be a home win

Saturday, 1 May 2010
10) Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
LoseSpurs may still be in with a shout of CL football at this stage, and I feel they will be too good for us

Sunday, 9 May 2010
11) Bolton v Birmingham, 15:00
WinIf my current predictions are anywhere near right (which is highly unlikely) we will have only collected 9 points from a possible ten matches. However, the boys will dig deep and find the win to keep us up by the skin of our teeth, Burnley and Wolves joining Pompey in the relegation zone

West ham - 1-1 draw
Sunderland - 1-0 lose, they havent won in something like 14 so that will no doubt end with us.
Wigan - 2-1 win
Everton - 3-0 lose...i really hate us going to everton.  Sad
Man utd - 4-0 lose...if we get anything from this game with rooneys form then zat knights had a great game.
Villa - 1-1 draw
Chelsea - cant we just not turn up and forfit?
Stoke - 2-0 lose...we will probablly get batterd unless the team realise that we can beat them by PLAYING IT ON THE GROUND!!
Pompey - 3-0 win If were going to stay up this is a must win
Spurs - 2-0 lose
Birmingam - 2-0 win - predict both teams will be safe by then (birmingam especially) so it should be an enjoyable game.

I can only see us beating Wigan, but even that's borderline.

It really wouldn't surprise me if we didn't win again.

1) Saturday, 6 March 2010
West Ham v Bolton, 15:00
Loss
Will be close but West Ham seem a much more settled club these days with the new owners and don't drop many points against bottom half sides, especially at home.

2) Tuesday, 9 March 2010
Sunderland v Bolton, 19:45
Win
The one game I can realisticly predict an away win for us. Sunderland have been in freefall for weeks now and it's only just starting to get noticed. We will hopefully get the bit of luck we never got at Wigan and Man City and get the win.

3) Saturday, 13 March 2010
Bolton v Wigan, 15:00
Win
If we can't win this game then we don't deserve to be in the top flight, simple as that.

4) Saturday, 20 March 2010
Everton v Bolton, 15:00
Loss
A bridge too far for us, home win every time.

Saturday, 27 March 2010
5) Bolton v Man Utd, 17:30
Loss
Playing United in their title run-in is always dangerous. Easiest prediction of them all.

Saturday, 3 April 2010
6) Bolton v Aston Villa, 15:00
Win
This is one people will fear because it's a Champions' League contender but they fell apart from March onwards last year, and with the cup final disappointment to go with it this could be one of our best chances to pick up points.

Monday, 12 April 2010
7) Chelsea v Bolton, 20:00
Loss
Chelsea will drop points and I pray it's against us but going off how it went last time we went there in October I doubt it'll be any different.

Saturday, 17 April 2010
8 ) Stoke v Bolton, 15:00
Draw
Tough one this, just depends on who is more up for it. By then they'll be safe you'd think so hopefully they have an off day and we can get something.

Saturday, 24 April 2010
9) Bolton v Portsmouth, 15:00
Win
I know they beat Burnley but this is still a dreadful side and I'd be shocked if we didn't win it.

Saturday, 1 May 2010
10) Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
Lose
I think by this point we will have enough points to be safe, because Burnley, Wolves and Hull will have dropped loads of points by now. So we'll lose because we can, and Spurs are better than us.

Sunday, 9 May 2010
11) Bolton v Birmingham, 15:00
Win
Round the season off with a nice comfortable 2-0 win and finish about 14th wondering what all the panic was about while we wave Brian Laws off.

16 points in total.

I've had a quick peek at your predictions throughout the season and no wonder you were surprised. You've only predicted us to gain 8 points all season! I don't know if it's just a law-of-averages way of winning the prediction league knowing that we are going to lose more than win (which is quite a clever idea really) or if you are just generally that negative but you need to believe a bit more! Do you not even think we'll beat Portsmouth, Wigan or Birmingham at home?

1) Saturday, 6 March 2010
West Ham v Bolton, 15:00
Win - Who's afraid of West Ham?

2) Tuesday, 9 March 2010
Sunderland v Bolton, 19:45
Draw - Never easy to turn them over, but we have in the past - even with Elmander on the pitch!

3) Saturday, 13 March 2010
Bolton v Wigan, 15:00
Win - We'll win the game and eat their Pies!

4) Saturday, 20 March 2010
Everton v Bolton, 15:00
Lose - Everton is a stronger club with an impressive win over Man U recently.

Saturday, 27 March 2010
5) Bolton v Man Utd, 17:30
Lose - Wayne Rooney, damn him.

Saturday, 3 April 2010
6) Bolton v Aston Villa, 15:00
Lose - We have been on the receiving end from them in recent seasons, I don't expect that to change.

Monday, 12 April 2010
7) Chelsea v Bolton, 20:00
Lose - No 4-3 thriller, either.

Saturday, 17 April 2010
8 ) Stoke v Bolton, 15:00
Draw - Won't be easy, though.

Saturday, 24 April 2010
9) Bolton v Portsmouth, 15:00
Win - Pompey are a mixed bag - who knows which Pompey will turn up?

Saturday, 1 May 2010
10) Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
Lose - Strong attacking team against a weak defending team.

Sunday, 9 May 2010
11) Bolton v Birmingham, 15:00
Draw - Brum will, I expect, not have a lot playing for at this point, and will be focused on signing C. Ronaldo and Messi for next season.

That's 12 points, and I don't think that is overly optimistic.

1) Saturday, 6 March 2010
West Ham v Bolton, 15:00
Lose - Who's afraid of West Ham? I am. Well, maybe afraid is a bit much but I think they'll beat us.

2) Tuesday, 9 March 2010
Sunderland v Bolton, 19:45
Draw - On an awful run with absolutely no confidence. We have a habit of helping teams out in these situations but I think we'll leave with a point.

3) Saturday, 13 March 2010
Bolton v Wigan, 15:00
Win - Another three points in the bag at home.

4) Saturday, 20 March 2010
Everton v Bolton, 15:00
Lose - Receive our now common beating at the hands of Everton at Goodison

Saturday, 27 March 2010
5) Bolton v Man Utd, 17:30
Lose - Similar to the Arsenal games - spirited performance but no points .

Saturday, 3 April 2010
6) Bolton v Aston Villa, 15:00
Draw - This fixture ALWAYS ends in a draw

Monday, 12 April 2010
7) Chelsea v Bolton, 20:00
Lose
- Heavily and which knob head decided this should be moved to Monday night?

Saturday, 17 April 2010
8 ) Stoke v Bolton, 15:00
Lose - They're great at home, we're poor away - another defeat - Coyle's search for his first away win continues

Saturday, 24 April 2010
9) Bolton v Portsmouth, 15:00
Win - who cares which Pompey will turn up? We will beat them. They'll be down by then anyway

Saturday, 1 May 2010
10) Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
Lose - Arses kicked again

Sunday, 9 May 2010
11) Bolton v Birmingham, 15:00
Win - Brum will, I expect, not have a lot playing for at this point, and will be focused on their jollies and summer sun.

11 points which takes us to 37 and safety I hope!

I thought you were stopping making various predictions as you have jinxed both the team and poor Andy O'Brien in the past? If we don't get 11 wins now, we know exactly where the blame lies!

1) Saturday, 6 March 2010
West Ham v Bolton, 15:00
Win- I have a feeling that we will sneak a win here with the hammers dominating the game from start to finish. 0-1

2) Tuesday, 9 March 2010
Sunderland v Bolton, 19:45
Draw- A game of two halfs for me. Bolton go in at half time on top but Bruce gives them a bollocking and they salvage a point. 1-1

3) Saturday, 13 March 2010
Bolton v Wigan, 15:00
Win- A very scrappy afair with one goal between the teams. Wigan will press us all over the pitch but will the new look midfield hopefully we can pick them off. 1-0

4) Saturday, 20 March 2010
Everton v Bolton, 15:00
Lose- They will be too strong for us, end of. 3-0

Saturday, 27 March 2010
5) Bolton v Man Utd, 17:30
Lose- Coyle has managed to do them once this year at home so whos to say he wont do it again? If we set up right and go for them we might nick a point but i expect a narrow defeat. 0-2

Saturday, 3 April 2010
6) Bolton v Aston Villa, 15:00
Draw- As someone else pointed out, they seem to run out of steam in the latter stages of the season and still have the FA cup to play for so we have every chance of taking a points here. 2-2

Monday, 12 April 2010
7) Chelsea v Bolton, 20:00
Lose- They need the title this year
4-0

Saturday, 17 April 2010
8 ) Stoke v Bolton, 15:00
Lose- Another team who will be to physical for us and will win all the second balls and punish us for missing chances. However, we are in a real battle to survive this year which might give us that bit between our teeth to grind out a draw. 2-1
Saturday, 24 April 2010
9) Bolton v Portsmouth, 15:00
Win- Not a certainty but if we dont beat a team like Portsmouth at home i dont believe we deserve to be in this division. 3-1

Saturday, 1 May 2010
10) Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
Lose- Hopefully not a repeat of the FA cup but still expect them to beat us. 2-0

Sunday, 9 May 2010
11) Bolton v Birmingham, 15:00
Win- Birmingham started the season in great form but will have nothing to play for come the end of the season and i fancy a nervy 2-1

That give us an extra 14 point and results in a safe  40 point Smiley

I think we'll get 12 points from those games and end up with 38 points. Will have to wait and see if that is enough to stay up, I believe it will be. I think we will stay up, I would happily put a lot of money on it if I could get good odds.

I've had a quick peek at your predictions throughout the season and no wonder you were surprised. You've only predicted us to gain 8 points all season!

The secret is to always go for Bolton not scoring. It's ridiculous that you get the same points for predicting no goals as you would a Jussi goal. But there you go, it's helped me no end!

Then your only dilemma is how many the opposition will put past us. I usually toss a coin to decide whether we'll lose 2-0 or 3-0.
