OK 3 reasons why we didn't win[we should of]
1) Fulham's keeper Schwarzer
2) Elmander- perfect ball from Kevin Davies and all he had to do was beat the keeper, but sent it wide, I'm sorry but that should of been 1-0, he bottled it!
3) The ref - i hope he comes out after seeing the replay and apologises, he has robbed us 2 points that we won't get back! it was a legal goal, pathetic decision!
Also i think Lee should of taken it 1st time instead of unluckily not getting past Schwarzer.

Just on the way home now. Team selection and performance first half was a Megson match all over. Zero ball retention; 100% hoof, 0% creativity.
Second half improved once we had someone alongside Davies and once Coyle made his three subs, we looked like we could win the game. The subs were too late though.
Fulham were poor today and they were every bit the team who had 9 away wins since 2005. Sadly, we only started playing in the last 20 minutes, and still had enough chances in that spell to claim all three points with Elmander going very close and Davies having a bullet header (wrongly, in my eyes) ruled out.
Sadly, the chance to win the game was lost with the team selection. Whether Coyle had to change it late and he played 5 men in midfield to protect the error prone O'Brien and Knight but it killed any chance of us winning and rendered us toothless and ineffective throught the first half.
Wiess looked lively though and demonstrated just what we miss down the left when Taylor plays.

If we play like that against tottenham, we are going to get battered, good play towards the end, the ref was pathetic, worst decision in my days as a wanderer

Looking at the angle, the keeper just made an astute save. If he had somehow manage to lift it off the ground he would have banged it in (or possibly hoofed it over as he is prone to do).

What do people make of us playing just one striker at home - a striker who can't score for toffee this season? I know Klasnic is injured and Elmander is nothing special but one up front at home?
I think Owen Coyle needs to shake things up to be honest. Taylor is poor, we all know that yet he keeps getting a game. I'd much rather we had Gardner or Weiss in his position. I think Cohen needs dropping. I think there needs to be a rethink about Kevin Davies and how he fits into a new system.

On todays brief performance, give me Weiss any day of the week. Take a chance with the Arsenal wanna be too

I went to the match today, not just to cheer the team on but to try and see our problems, i put my love for Bolton Wanderers to one side and concentrated on individuals.
Firstly Muamba: Once again amazing at breaking the play up and regaining possession for us the 30 odd times he did, he is desperate for a Cam to come and pick the ball of him, i seen Mark Davies demanding the ball of him, and was the only one doing so, Muamba was my mom by an absoloute country mile. Top Class again.
Zat Knight: Awesome again, and surprisingly composed on the ball and never give it the hoof every time he got the ball, he played a simple ball to the keeper, full backs and AOB everytime, meaning we kept the ball. Closely Behind Muamba our 2nd best player.
Cohen: This guy is a bigger problem for me than Kevin Davies in the current team, i watched him for about 15 mins straight and couldnt believe his of the ball movement and reading of the game, Cohen is absoloutely clueless and needs to be dropped urgently, i'm not surprised we go long as he never drops in the space, never in the right place at the right time and just stands around watching the game go by. Yes he looks comfortable on the ball but how many times does he go in the space to recieve the ball, he never demands the ball and is a bigger dis joint than Davies.
Taylor: What does this guy actually do apart from run inside a 30 yard perimeter like an headless chicken losing every second ball, he doesn't track back (so that means Robinson can't push up and overlap, as he doesn't trust Taylor to cover him) iv even seen Klasnic at the left back position doing Taylors job when our left back has pushed up. This is another player that has to be dropped Urgently, even his set pieces arnt effective at the moment so this makes him 100% useless. Another player that can only play direct.
Mark Davies: Was like a little bee flying around the pitch today and played pretty decent despite having nothing to link up with apart from Lee.
Kevin Davies: Connected with a few headers but not really effective, just gave the ball away nearly all the time (apart from when he got the ball of a player then gave it back to him) he is predictable and like cohen, his positioning is awful and just stands there watching the play go by , i seen him on several occasions receive the ball to feet give it back and just turned and run into a crowded box instead of moving into space around the box to receive the ball again, he has no football brain and unless we bring some direct players in to replace, Lee, Mark Davies and Cohen he is another player that needs to be dropped urgently and used as an impact sub if where chasing a game.
Elmander: when he come on we looked 10 x better he was making the right runs, making the right passes and brought the team together, he made a cracking run when he got himself on the 1 on 1 and the keeper did a great job in narrowing the angle, i think that was the first time we got behind there back 4 and it took one inteligent run (decent pass by Kevin Davies but i think anyone on the pitch could of made the pass!not anyone on the pitch could of made the run)...... i don't expect Elmander to bang every shot in as he's not a prolific goal scorer, he is a link up player and was awesome today when he come on.
Wiess: This lad has potential but Coyle needs to get hold of him and tell him to keep things simple ''where in a relegation fight'' not cruising games, he has pace and trickery but after the 1st few times Fulham started to read he was just going to try and take them on and won it of him a few times, when he and Elmander was on the pitch we looked 10x better and looked a major threat and started to cut them. With more creative players on the pitch in front of him and and alongside of him, im sure he will vary his play, this kid is going to be awesome.
Fulham: the worst away team in the league apart from Burnley and with a depleted squad with their 4th and 5th strikers in and we couldn't take advantage? Fulham where awful today but played right into their hands. Once again we failed to score for the 3rd time in 5 games! We looked totally disjointed with direct players trying to play football. Coyle either play direct with direct players or play football with footballers don't mix it as it wont work.
I'm feeling pretty down atm and fear for the worse.
All the other players played there part and had a decent game.

Elmander wasn't awesome lol
1st thing he did was bang heads with Hangeland.
2nd thing he did was have a bad touch and put it out for a throw in
Then he didn't chase down a ball and let the keeper get it, which led to a few moans from the fans
Next thing he did was miss the 1 on 1
Next thing he did staightaway after the miss, was to get the ball on the edge of the box [ kinda controlled it with his head] and then mess up.
He did a good run to get on to the Davies pass.

Poor first half performance. Unlucky not to score through Mark Davies though when he hit the bar. Improved in the secong half. Good keeping to stop Lee from scoring then terrible finishing from Elmander after SKD had played him in. Should have won it right at the end with SKDs bullet header. Clattenburg must have been the only person in the stadium to see the push. Apparently tv cameras didn't see it neither.

Elmander was awesome despite playing next to 2 direct clueless players! I seen him on a number of occasions going over to Lee and comunicating trying to get something going between each other.

Elmander was bloody rubbish, nothing less. I take back a bit of my Muamba doubts, but he needs to consistently play like that.

You put all your love for Bolton aside, all your biased thoughts aside and concentrated totally on the match...and all you could come up with is Elmander is awesome, Kevin Davies is rubbish?
What an afternoon wasted.

Elmander was awesome? As for Schwarzer narrowing the angle for his 1 on 1? From a central position and 8 yards out, stop making excuses for him. He had the entire right hand side of the goal to aim for and it was an awful miss. Also waiting to see a replay of the Davies header. Like everyone else, I don't see why it was disallowed.

How many times did Davies make a run and get behind the defence to create a chance in 90 mins? Elmander was on 15 and had created 10 x more than Davies with his movement and his brain. End of. We kept the ball when Elmander was on when he wasn't we hoofed it to Davies and it bounced back.

It was painful at times today when we had the ball as nobody knew who to pass to or where to pass it.
We kept a clean sheet today which i would have expected but if we keep one on tuesday then ill hold my hands up and say well done bolton.
