Any game in which acquiring James Tomkins is a good deal is wildly unrealistic.

haha....everyone hates James Tomkins.  He's really not that bad.

He is and he isn't.  He's been playing badly for WHU, but my view is that he has enough ability to be coached into a good centre back.

I'm really struggling to keep clean sheets with Bolton and my away record is terrible, we're just to open. How do you sort this out? Smiley

If you have pace at the back, hold a higher line and play possession football.  If you don't, play a holding player and drop deep.

Thanks pal. Well I have:

Robinson - Wheater - Cahill - Steinsson

I also keep getting a message from my assistant saying that the midfield and forwards are too far apart, thus the opposition is getting too much time on the ball.

Does that mean I have to play a high line? Seems a bit risky, if I'm facing a team with fast attackers?

Drop a forward into 'the hole' and give him very attacking instructions.

Well, I can see a difference already. Smiley

I put Sturridge just behind Davies, and pushed my defenders up a weeeee bit.. Smiley

Another thing you can do it have one midfielder play with very defensive instructions and have him close down and mark tightly.  Then play with very attacking fullbacks.  Makes your wingers more effective and stops the opposition cutting through the middle.

Am doing the stats for FM12 for Bolton at the moment, so any suggestions on where I've gone wrong are welcome.
