My FM-addiction can step in here  Roll Eyes

I took Vauxhall Motors (Predicted bottom of BSN on FM09) to consecutive promotions to the Championship. First Championship season was 9th and then I got bored  Kiss

Did you get help from anywhere because that seems very unlikely if im honest to do that back to back , i had a go as vm once on 09 and they are dreadful with not a penny between them.

I managed to get Gateshead from BSN to League 1 within 5 seasons but got stuck there and was relegated 3 seasons later back to league 2 where the wankers sacked me.

Started off with Fleetwood.  Lost out in the playoffs first season, midway through the second Bury offered me their job, they were bottom of L2.  KEpt them up, won the league they next year and currently in mid-table L1 half way through the 2012/13 season.

Does this mean that you do the research to turn into the FM10 crew as they are making the game, or does it have to do with FM live? Do you get paid for your research?

I sold Basham..but I did get 10.5M  Cool He turns into a good PL player and would probably still be good backup if i'd have kept him.

As a researcher, why the fudge was Nicky Hunt our best defender for 3 years running(06-08) and why is Elmander the best striker in the PL for a good two years  Grin

Oh and why did I sell Zat Knight to Porto 1st season in January and why did he go on to win the Champs Lg at the end of the season.   Cheesy I demand your blood!

Elmander is NOT the best striker in the PL...

As in previous versions, Tevez hits 30 goals a year, for the first 3 years in all my games...

Fair doski on Tevez he is the best striker on this game.

Now i think about it, Adebayor was the best on the last game.

But Elmander is far too good on both games, 20+ goal a season for the first couple of seasons, then he dies(LIKE CHAS!!!!!   :'( ) and ends up scoring 1 goal in like 4 seasons for Ipswich before I bring him back to my successful backroom team. Muhahaha

Batty- what actually is involved in doing the research. Do they give you a list and you have to literally go through each category with a mark out of /20? If so do you not just get tempted to make up stuff like 'Long throws' for say, Davo? Or do you give a vague description of each player and they fill it in? If it's the former, how come Nobby wasn't THAT bad for us?

As an aside, where you at the Lincoln game, I thought I saw you but I wasnae sure, and going up to a stranger and asking are you Batty might not have gone down too well.

You have an excel spreadsheet with 3 pages to fill in. You have to grade all the players, fill out all the players details and more.

I've got the Plymouth Argyle research spreadsheet  Wink

Here's a Screenshot or 2 from it Smiley

Jeeeeeebus. Surely they don't take it all for granted though? Joking aside, we all have our personal preferences and favourites, so how come fans favourites like Davo are never miles better than the rest of the team? Do they whack some sort of standardisation thingy on it? And what about under 18's and that, you MUST be tempted to make it up?

A few people have been sacked for making up stats, and theres usually a couple for each club.

I think there is a group of people who check all the stats to make sure there are no unbelievable increases in stats etc.
