Hughes would be an excellent appointment, but I don't think we'll get him.
I would love us to make a move for Owen Coyle but I think it is more likely we will make a move for someone out of work so we don't have to pay compensation and we'll be able to appoint someone quickly.
I think Alan Curbishley would be a great appointment, he has loads of experience.

A writer from the bolton news has just been on sky saying from a purist point of view he wanted owen coyle.
I was speaking to my mate who i go to the matches with and we both thought that coyle would come if given the right resources in accordance to what he is offered at burnely.

I have said for a long time. Alan Curbishley or Steve Coppell! I would rather have AC because he likes to bring proper football to the clubs he manages. I think Hughes is a bit of a luxury, but I sed Old Meggo wouldent be sacked!

Just had a look on Sky Bet and above are the immediate favourites for the job.
Make your choice and if your favourite doesn't appear on the list, name them in this thread.

If curbishley was to be appointed i personally think we would guarantee safety every season and would play decent football, ive always said its no coinsidence that once he left charlton they dropped like stones.

Does anyone else think that Gartside will want to appoint a 'Yes Man' rather than someone who was like Big Sam who may place demands on Gartside? We all know Gartside had his problems with Big Sam and they ended in very bad relations, and since then he has appointed Yes Men in Sammy Lee and Gary Megson. I hope he doesn't go for another Yes Man.

Right rather than a 'who do you want' this is more of a 'who is it going to be?'
- Alan Irvine... is it just a coincidence that he's been fired off and Megson has, along with Natasha's 'done deal' posts?
- Schteve McLaren... ready to move back to England?
- Hughes - Can't see it myself but it keeps him in the north west and in a job??

Aw Gudni Bergsson says he would be available to take the job but said he knew he wouldn't be on the list. God I'd love him back at the club although I know it would be huge risk with him having no managerial experience.

Imagine that for a popularity appointment though. He's not done anything football related since retiring to the best of our knowledge, but I really do think we have to get either a respected manager i.e. Hughes, or someone who's already popular with the Bolton faithful i.e. Bergsson, for it to work with the fans this time.

Who i want and who i think we will get are slightly different...Im hoping for Mark Hughes, he lives in the north west so would be easier for him also, however I believe by 1st Jan we will have Paul Jewell.

Who do I want?
Mark Hughes
Who do I think we'll get?
Alan Curbishley or Paul Jewell
If I had to pick which one out of those two, i'd pick Curbs. However, after the daft nob'ed we've just had in charge, i'm prepared to give anyone else a chance!

Same as everyone else, I want Hughes in but it all depends on if he wants to come here. I really don't want another average appointment like Steve Coppell, I want someone who is proven and who can come in right now and get the job done. Knowing Gartside he'll go and appoint sodding Megson again tomorrow!

I wouldn't want Steve Coppell, I know he did quite well for a couple of years at Reading but he got them relegated and couldn't get them promoted last season and he left Reading in quite a mess IMO, look at them now. I don't know why some people rate him so highly, he did nothing for years between Palace and Reading - and both those clubs didn't last long in the Premiership under him.

Very true...can see it between Jewell, curbs and coppell who all are probably bored out their tree waiting for a job to come along so i can see all being very up for it. Would be surprised to see hughes actually up for it and others may be exciting gambles the club can't afford to take (lack of experience, shearer, ferguson etc). Most likely i can see is curbishley.

Alan Irvine will still be the next manager of BWFC according to my source. The fact PNE ditched Irvine yesterday forced Gartside's hand as Irvine is the only manager the club want. The fact he will now be on a 'free' is seen as a massive bonus.
Don't waste your money betting on anyone else.

Marvellous! We've managed to find someone with a worse recent record than Megson.
