As much as i dont like megson he has a point Bolton Wanderers chief Gary Megson feels that a section of his side are letting him down.
Megson's side are second from bottom after just three wins this season and the Bolton boss has now called on his players to get them out of trouble.
"I don't like criticising my players publicly but three or four of them are not playing like I know they can," said Megson.
"We've got exceptional players who are not playing as well as I know they can. Our club deserves better than this. We're in trouble.
"With two home games coming up, there has to be a realisation of what we're doing.

Theres so many players who are not playing who we want to play and think would do a better job so its not like his hands are tied because the players he is currently playing are streets ahead of the ones that are probably itching to get playing time.

Well said. I read this story on Sky Sports earlier and thought 'You know, Megson has a point'. But come to think of it, he's the one not only playing these players from the start, but giving them the full 90 minutes AND making the worst culprit the captain! He really defies logic, he's fcuking clueless. |

Well said. I read this story on Sky Sports earlier and thought 'You know, Megson has a point'. The main reason we are struggling is well one a lack of quality, but two we cant bring players in to freshen things up because Gary has alianted players so much by leaving them rotting in the reserves. Hunt Shittu Riga etc they simply must feel like shíte and even if they were now given a chance in the team would probably not too give two fucks about whether they played well or not, yes it's disgraseful and they should be proffesional about it but have you never had a manager at work that has treated you like shíte. You dont want too go to work, you only work too the minimum of your abilities while there and probably make mistakes too make the manager look like a dick exactly whats happening at Bolton, Has anyone seen an article where a player has really said anything positive about Megson its normally about how good the team spirit and how we have a good bunch of lads here, ffs even when Mclaren was at England players were even praising him before the Crotaia match. Megson is amatuer through and through he is an average Championship manager with some of the worst PR and Man managment skills i've ever seen. Talk of well weve been here before and we got out of it, that was totally different we actually had quality who could nick a game even if we were playing shite. At the moment i fear even if we played out of our skin we'd be lucky to scrape a draw!

Yes its the players fault for not performing but its also megsons fault for signing these stumps.

This might surprise a few people, but I'm going to back Megson on this... to a certain extent. I think the signing of Sam Ricketts and Paul Robinson baffled us all. Yes Jlloyd Samuel needed competition so I can understand he wanted a left-back but surely even the thickest of football fans would know that Jlloyd is a better player than Paul Robinson? Sam Ricketts wasn't needed. However, I don't think you can fault the signing of Sean Davis. Decent player, free transfer and it was just sheer misfortune that he got injured, it wouldn't surprise me though if some people thought that it was Megson's fault he did get injured! I think Lee and Klasnic have been decent signings, and he was obviously aware that we needed another centre-half alongside Cahill. On paper, IMO Zat Knight is our 2nd choice centre half and a somewhat decent addition to our defence. However he's just not performed. I think we need to go down the Sam Allardyce route and go for 'damaged goods' i.e. the Dioufs in order to get quality but at a risk. It's the only way we will see significant improvements in our performances. |

I agree that Davies on a free was a decent bit of business.
However, according to Megson's own oft-repeated statement, he tried to sign him for £3m in January.
Which basically equates to Megson saying "I'm a fcking idiot" in my book.
