Premier League Games Overseas

Down under we've heard abit about this idea of playing a round of the premierleague overseas, i think that would be a terrific idea & i think melbourne should host a game ahead of sydney in this country, you'd easily pack the G in my opinion aslong as tickets were at a good price, couldn't think of anything better then seeing the good old wanderers live just like to know if this has any legs thanyou.

Basically if you didn't know the story, from 2010/11 the Premier League may add 1 game to the season, meaning 39 games.
This extra game (per club) will be staged at different venues around the world and the game would count towards league standings. The top 5 would be seeded to avoid playing each other.
Personally I think it's a terrible idea and it's all about money to the Premier League, they should try and concentrate on getting people in England back to the games first, the grounds are empty enough as it is!
Could you imagine how many people in Japan would want to see Bolton v Wigan? For some reason I don't think it'd be too popular apart from the "big 4".

yea i see where your coming from & if i was a local fan i'd be thinking the same but for someone over her who only gets to see it on tv it would be great to watch a game live. AFL( aussies rules football) if you've heard of it is pretty keen on a similar idea of playing abroad but i think ti would get more support because our game obviously isn't on a world scale.

Ill jus bring my thoughts from other topic that's been locked:
IMO it's a ridiculous idea that will make the premiership, known for being fair to every team, extremly unfair to the smaller teams and its just a quick way of making money. i hope for once they listen to the fans and that this doesnt go through

I go back to my earlier post. For people going to the game today, take a look around the ground at kick off, we'll probably be 10,000 short of capacity again.
The Premier League need to address the domestic problems before expanding abroad.
