Manny, that's too bad you deleted my post, especially as you say it was off topic, which I think I went to great lengths to apologise for in advance. I believe a fair per centage of posts could be deleted using the criteria that they are off topic!! Just my opinion of course. Regards.

Pete - please stay on topic. You're ruining a perfectly good Billy the Fish thread.  Smiley

Bloody hell, give the guy a chance. All sounds like The Mirror making crap up to me.

Spanish club Xerex are trying to sign Bolton misfit Ivan Klasnic on loan in January.

Croatian international striker Klasnic, 29, has yet to score for Bolton since joining on loan from Nantes and Xerex are hoping to get special permission to take him to Spain.

He's only been with us for about a month. If I recall Anelka barley played for is in that time, I highly doubt the Mirror would claim that he was a flop for us.

Forget Billy the Fish Wakey he's washed up, if you really want a goalie we should be looking at Harry Salmon, he's  marvellous and especially good with his leaping, diving saves. He's also good at battering the opposition if they get too close to him.

I think the Klasnic rumour has to be complete tosh.  There is no way the BW would let him leave.  For what little time he's been on the pitch, he's shown that he has talent.  He'll score for us sooner rather than later, given playing time.

I suppose the problem is, bearing in mind Megson's predilection for one striker, he may feel he is not going to get much playing time and he might want to leave, I know if I was in his position, had been out for a long time and in the second half of my career I would want to play all I could.

Megson: Legend

He'd have to be incredibly stupid to be in that position - I'm sure he or his agent would have some knowledge of how we do things at the Reebok before signing in the first place.  Being from the Mirror, I can't see there being any truth in it whatsoever.

If he felt that way, then why join us in the first place. He is not a striker who would instantly dislodge the current players, not have we paid a huge fee for him and are, therefore, obligated to play him like you could say about Elmander. Plus, despite Megson's many failings as Tim is all to keen to point out, in the five games that he has been here for, he has started against Birmingham and West Ham and he got half an hour away at Pompey. Not bad game time for a new signing. He's probably played more than Smolarek did already!

More newspaper bullshit no doubt.

Oh, for sure it is probably not true, but If you think about it Megson was promising a different style of play and Klasnic could have construed that as meaning an extra forward. We were playing Davies and Elmander last season, unless you knew the league well you would not necc know that Davies was playing right wing. Just a thought.

Mike Salmon was one of the legendary Phil Neal's signings in the mid 80's.
Made Terry Poole look like a world-beater.

I was in Canada by then Wakey and the only football I got for a good few years was from Germany, with a guy called Toby Charles who was dire. Thank god for the internet and technology.

BOLTON boss Gary Megson is planning a bid for Rochdale ace Will Buckley.
The deal would see the striker, 21, stay at the League Two club for the rest of this term.

Beckford is being touted again at around £3m worth a punt!

I think there'll be a lot of interest in Beckford in January. I think he's out of contract next summer so for £3m I think Leeds would bite your hand off.

Then again, if they get promoted, which they probably will, Beckford would probably want to stay and sign a new deal. I think money will talk on that one.

Robinson for captain

Id like us to sign Beckford, he seems quality.

But like you said I think there will be high interest in him and we (as usual) will probabaly be beaten out for him if he decides to leave Leeds.

Is this where Megson gets his transfer targets from?
