If you want near on guaranteed employment, try Sports World at the Reebok. I worked there for about a year but left after a fallout. Minimum wage aswell.

Do you turn 16 this summer? Most companies wait until you're 16 before they hire. I'd say print a CV off and take it to some job agencies in town.

I'm in the same boat as you but can't find a job. Been looking for nearly 3 months since I finished uni. By the time I have a job I'll be back.

no, im not 16 till january, thats the problem i have really, ive still got another year of school. Ive got a CV printed out and a reference from my work experience placement,  no idea if thats any good though, so its jus a case of finding a place willing to give me 6 weeks work, then maybe an after school job.

Because of your age I think you may struggle. You don't get your national insurance number until you're 16 if I recall correctly.

Trying the agencies should be the best bet, although they didn't help me! You may get a glass collecting or pot wash job at a pub or something at your nearest leisure centre.

Yeah I thought you had to be 16 to work?

I've just finished my placement at uni and I was looking for a job over summer just to see me out until I start my final year of uni in September. I signed up on this website - www.totaljobs.com and I put my CV on there. This agency called 'Hi-Flyers' got in touch with me. It basically went like this:

Sunday - I loaded up my CV
Monday - Someone from the agency contacted me for an interview
Tuesday - Went for the interview
Wednesday - They put me forward for a job
Thursday - Arranged an interview with this company
Friday - Had an interview and got the job

I start my new job on Monday! Bearing in mind I'm 20 and I have a good work experience backing and decent qualifications, was a piece of piss getting a temp job through them!

A lot better than what they did for me. Or anybody else for that matter.

What job have you got?

The big problem for me is I don't drive so basically I'm limited to working either in town or at the Reebok. Anything where I'm faffing around too much on transport isn't worth it because it'll eat up a large chunk of my wage.

I just know I'll find something the week I start back at uni, which is what I didn't want!

Not 100% sure but it's just a basic office job on the phones, for 3-5 weeks which is perfect for me! You should get a job at Pizza Hut on Middlebrook, I used to work there straight after a match! I might even go back for my last year of uni just because of the convenience

That's why working at Sports World used to be a laugh. The boss used to let you pretty much pick your own hours and I always got matchdays off. But he left and the new boss wasn't so kind, I was getting less and less hours and in the end it just wasn't worth it.

My new job was a pile of ass, I've phoned them and told them I'm not going in!

Think I'll head back to Pizza Hut... lol
