Anyone watch this tonight, does anyone have an idea of how he did it?

I know there is some obvious explenation but he managed to predict the lotto numbers.

I reckon he just used magic...real magic mind, not that pretend stuff.

I was flicking through stations and saw the end few moments - he'll say he used some clever physic device to predict the outcome but if you watch it again he stands perfectly motionless with his hand on his mouth when the numbers are drawn and it was so odd it must surely be relevant. Given that it's a static shot (no background movement) and the balls were isolatd on the left half of the screen, I would guess he used a superimposed split screen and someone simply walked on and placed the correct balls on when he remained still.

Damn, I should have put Spoiler Alert at the start of this post.

Oh, and there's no Father Christmas.

I think he's great to watch, I've already seen that 'gathering' he's done but the lottery thing was brilliant. He's spoken up before that he uses a combination of psychology, hypnosis and a load of other mind-bollocks techniques to do it, but how you can predict the lottery draw is beyond me... I look forward to 'how he does it' on Friday.

I mean, if I had his 'abilities', I would be sat at home placing bets on sports and doing the lottery twice a week, not telling everyone about it!!

here is one solution...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bCyYuSOufE

(yes even with camera movement)

my own theory was -

i noticed that the plastic tube is just the right size for a ball to go up!

so the shot of the balls facing away from the camera is not the real balls, it just looks like it, maybe half balls or something.

the "see through" plastic tube is not see through, its done with a mirror effect, which is removed from the tube perhaps in time for derren walking behind it.

so derren wastes time writing the numbers down and muttering while the balls are fed up the non see through tube into position....

could have been done like that, and if it was it was very well done, split screen would be simpler.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

perhaps he "SPENT A FULL YEAR" (as he said) working on this... maybe he spent the year recording every possible outcome for getting 5 out of 6 balls correct, about 50,000 possibilities, and the 6th ball was a guess or something?

why did he not just have a lotto ticket, and say, ill show you my prediction as soon as the balls come out.

ALSO... what a KOP OUT, i cant reveal the numbers because BBC have the right to show them first, and then, totally contradicted himself by broadcasting the "live" BBC feed through channel 4!!!!

oh and, no audience for security reasons and so nobody could benefit from his prediction.........
er hello, they couldnt have bought a ticket after half seven!!!

it stinks of a camera trick!

One of the terms of him being allowed to do it was that he wasn't allowed to buy a lottery ticket.

I don't think it'll be a split screen or camera trick, anybody could do that, Gloria Hunniford could do that, and its not Derren Brown's style. So some kind of illusion definitely, slight of hand or smoke & mirrors.

Derren Brown leaves more questions than answers as he explains lottery trick.

Derren Brown, the illusionist, left viewers with more questions than answers after the programme in which he promised to disclose how he predicted the winning National Lottery numbers.

The_Gibbon watched the show, and The_Gibbon wishes he hadn't bothered as it was a waste of 60 minutes of The_Gibbons life. The_Gibbon still doesn't know how the trick was done, and certainly doesn't believe the explanation given by Brown.

The_Gibbon did enjoy the David Blaine show afterwards though. The_Gibbon thinks that Blaine is as mad as a box of frogs

The way to counter any wasted minutes of life is to make sure you put twice the amount of excitement into the same amount of minutes. so say you was going to have 2 banana's in an hour instead have 4.
